1. ^ I love Live Bootleg - one of the best live albums of all time.

I listen to Nine Lives a lot - Crash, Full Circle, Nine Lives, Falling Off and Taste of India always get a run-through.
  2. Taste of India was actually my favorite on first listen.

I dunno, I liked the second half of Live Bootleg but I really couldn't stand the Sweet Emotion version. Can't have it all though.

The one on Little South of Sanity is perfection.
  3. Live Bootleg: yeah I don't like that version of Sweet Emotion - but that said, a lot of Live Bootleg is fantastic - and I love Chip Away The Stone and Mother Popcorn.

Have you ever managed to get a hold of Honkin' On Bobo?
  4. No, I haven't. The only Aerosmith albums I own are:

Get Your Wings (iTunes only, no hard copy)
    A Little South of Sanity
    Live Bootleg
Permanent Vacation (iTunes only, currently my favorite I think)
    Pump
    Nine Lives
O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith (Only the first disc and a few off the second)

And I have "Just Push Play" and "Jaded" from the JPP album.
  5. Permanent Vacation is a good album in that it mixes blues-rock (Hangman, St. John) with commercial rock (Dude, Rag Doll), so there's kinda something there for everyone.

O Yeah is not too bad - it's a shame how it skips a lot of the better 80s / 90s material. JPP was my favourite for a while. Even though it was panned, it's essentially no different to any Aero album of the last 20 years except for the electronic elements layered over the top. Take all that away (songs like Light Inside, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Just Push Play, Outta Your Head) and you'd have a pretty decent rock album.
  6. Hearts Done Time was always my fave off PV, but lately Livin' on the Edge has been growing on me a ton. Along with Eat the Rich. I need to pick up Get a Grip...the only reason I didn't yesterday was cause I felt like I already had most of the songs on it, with the power ballad trio, Livin' on the Edge, etc.

Honkin' On Bobo is going for £1.30 on Amazon UK.

    EDIT: Used, that is.
  8. Honkin' On Bobo is great at any condition. 90% covers, one original song - it blew me away the first time I heard it and also encouraged me to take up harmonica. When I first saw it I thought here we go, attempt at a rock and roll / blues album by Aerosmith - and while it's not blues, it's damn good rock and roll.

Permanent Vacation; the title track, I'm Down and The Movie are particular highlights. I always skip about five songs on Get A Grip but then I have so many B-sides that it doesn't matter so much.
  9. So I've just listened through Permanent Vacation all the way thru again...I have to maintain that it's my favorite Aerosmith album, even though I really enjoyed Get Your Wings earlier, too.

I honestly need to give Rocks and Toys in the Attic proper spins....I admit that even though I've heard most of the songs, I haven't heard the albums in full

  10. Just bought The Ramones Anthology. 57 songs and it only cost me £3. Bargain.
  11. bargain and great pick!
