    It's probably me you are thinking of. I don't actually hate hashtags, it's when someone posts something that they complain about then hashtag a single word to show how pissed off they are about it. For example: "I cannot stand Liverpool #arseholes". It's just an excuse to get followers. I know a girl in my school who has over 1,000 followers purely because she does that.

    Yeah, hashtags are often misused. Not even relevant really since standard words contribute to discussions and trending topics. They're good for a quick search though. If I see someone tag #F1 or something, I like to click through and see what other people are saying.

    Yeah, I don't mind them if they are used appropriately. #F1 is a perfect example actually.
