Its really too bad that Riot Act didn't take off. It's a very solid album from start to finish. Unlike the previous three albums (No Code, Yield, and Binaural) which have one or two clunkers, Riot Act doesn't have any songs that I would classify as a dud.

I never really got into Riot Act...You Are,Thumbing My Way,Cant Keep,IAM MINE are my standout tunes..rest is good/decent,but whith PJ,I expect more than only 4 top tunes from a release....

IMO,Pearl Jam (Avocado) and Backspacer are much better....

Hmmm....we'll have to agree to disagree here.

I just can't get into "Avocado." It's not an awful album but there are too many songs on it that just don't do it for me - and, unlike Binaural and Riot Act, I listened to it - repeatedly - upon its release in 2006. I tried to really like it but I recall saying to myself, "Why am I listening to this when I could just put Vs or Yield in my CD changer?"

Backspacer, although "only" three years old, still needs time to grow. I'd say it has four classics (Unthought Known, The Fixer, Just Breathe, and The End) while the rest is good - just not great.

uhm i'd add Love Boat Captain, Save You, All or None, 1/2 Full for example.
i really love Riot Act, maybe too long but with some good b-sides too.
for me it's the best of the second half of the career, since Binaural included.

I think my least favourite Riot Act song would be Cropduster. It's not that bad a tune but not good enough to still make it into the rotation nowadays while greats like Can't Keep, LBC, and TMW generally get shut out.

All or None and LBC are good tunes...but not classics IMO...1/2 Full and Save You are ok songs..nothing I ever got excited over....Its a good album...but with PJ,U2,Bruce,Radiohead,DMB etc....I expect more....

I wonder if mom picked up the PJ tickets today... Even though it'd probably be better to pick them up closer to the concert... I'm so worried that something weird will have happened to the booking that I need them to make me feel at ease. Lol.

Listened to the Lima gig a few times - it's extremely good.

I am moving on to Shoreline 2003. Those June boots are going to keep me busy.

“I don’t know, it’s hard to say. We’ve recorded some songs, and we’re going to record and write some more. You never know, it might be that we’re a song away or two, or it might be that we’re going to record six or seven more songs. I think the main thing is that were not in a rush and there’s no urgency to it. The most important thing is that we put something out that continues to expand our boundaries rather than trying to follow what we’ve done in the past. I think it’s a good time to hopefully continue to experiment, and continue to shake it up. So that people can go “Wow, that’s kind of weird for Pearl Jam,” and then 10 years later they can go, “Oh, that’s my favorite period.” Which is always kind of what happens. You try something and at first everybody doesn’t necessarily understand it, and then you look back and you go, thank God we tried something new, because it really opened a door up for us to be able to do this and this and this beyond that.”
