  6. I love a lot of the underrated tracks. Especially those from War and Zooropa. Drowning Man, Seconds, Like A Song are all good songs. As for Zooropa, I love almost every song on that album. I especially like Some Days Are Better Than Others. I know a lot of people don't like it and think it's a weak song, but I love that song. I love the sound of it.

    Going back to War, every year the senior drama class puts on a rememberance day assembly. It's like a presentation with freeze frames, skits, and monologues. I'm in it in this year coming up, and the drama teacher is a huge U2 fan, War came out when she was in grade 9 and JT came out when she was in grade 13!!! Talk about lucky. I ran the idea of having a U2 song from War in the presentation by her one time, and she said she might use Seconds or Drowning Man sometime. This year I'm going to try and get her to use one!!!

    If God Will Send His Angels has some of the best lyrics, and the video is just awesome! I love the single version (the one used in the video) with the extra lyrics at the end ("And I don't have to know how..."), Bono sings them so beautifully


    something i have never seen u2 do is play an instrumental song... no lyrics. i'm sure they could play heartland without any lyrics... maybe as an opener for the 2nd encore??

    BTW, was listening to God Part II earlier...the part that talks about the singer on the radio who said he's gonna kick the darkness till it bleeds daylight (wow!), does it refer to anyone in particular? Is this some famous quote that I don't know about or is just Bono being great?


    honestly he very well could be talking about himself..

    Bono frequently says that when you see him on the TV and doing all his One campaign stuff that you couldn't get further from the truth about who he really is... I remember either reading that quote in "Bono in coversation with Mikah" or "U2 by U2"

    anyway if Bono does really have a dark personality it would line up perfectly.
  10. Crumbs is criminally overrated... and it's barely mentioned at all here. It's mentioned a lot on Interference, though. I can't stand that song.

    New York is meh (like the rest of the album) in-studio, but pretty cool live. One of... three... songs I like on Elevation Boston.

    IGWSHA is criminally underrated, like the rest of Pop and Zooropa.

    Your Blue Room is another goody that we don't talk about a lot.

    Watchtower, God Part Deux, Heartland, WLCTT, and Hawkmoon are three more great songs that are rarely noticed by us or non-fans, although Watchtower isn't a U2 song.

    Really, all of Boy is also that way, and a lot of October (Tomorrow is amazing, for instance). Except for Is That All?. When I hear that, I usually switch it to Cry/Electric Co.

    Also, I love Drowning Man, and it is underrated, I think.

    I love SATS, but I much prefer the album version and the Mike Hedges version to any live version. PopMart Vegas was, of course, a complete disaster, but the acoustic versions never really satisfied me... it's okay on the rest of PopMart, but it was a disaster on Elevation. It is the only song I skip over on the Slane DVD.
  12. A few comments / opinions on the first (4) songs mentioned:

    "Is that All?" is a great opening riff but it isn't the greatest song overall; a great idea that was not fully realized. In that, it is appropriately titled - IS that all?

    "New York" is a bit bland on the album but live, it was good fun. It was played a lot during the Elevation tour but like Mofo and Last Night On Earth and Please - it's not been played since the tour for the album it came.

    "Drowning Man" is fantastic. Would be interesting to hear live... wonder if they could find a suitable arrangement for it... I'd love if they tried.

    Trip Through Your Wires, lie New York, is better live than on record. Not a favorite but it fares better than "Red Light" in my book. And like NY has not been played since the tour for the album it came.
