1. Just noticed that these didn't have a topic so i thought i'd start one...

I absolutely love these guys!! For me, easily the best indie rock band in the world. All of their albums have been consistently great and i'm looking forward to the new album Port of Morrow which will drop here in Oz this Friday... Here's their latest single Simple Song:

  2. I was a fan of them a while back, haven't listened for a while though. Big fan of James Mercer's work with Modest Mouse on 'We Were Dead...'. I think I'll get back into them, definitely worth the effort.

Basically this. I have "Wincing the Night Away", with my favorite track being the opening song Sleeping Lessons. I think I'll give that album a whirl now, actually.

Thank you for reminding me of them!
  4. That videoclip is a fucking piece of art. I had never listened to this guys, and I have automatically been converted into a fan. THANK YOU.
  5. Never really listened to them, but I know people that go on about them. Plus, I'll be seeing them at Leeds, so I best get listening to them.

  7. Review of the new album Port of Morrow on Pitchfork...

I have listened about 5-6 times now and it is definitely different to their previous work... but it must be expected considering the amount of change in band members over the years. More rock/pop than indie. That aside, this album is outstanding!!! Not a dull moment on it!! Stand out tracks: The Rifle's Spiral, lead single Simple Song, It's Only Life, September, For a Fool, Fall of '82 and 40 Mark Strasse
