I guess I'll have to listen to some nice remastered concert as well then. Maybe I'll put it off a few more days.

Just take it slow Matt....its hard to listen to all these gigs....it can be a bit much,I don't want you to OD on PJ..lol....I'm listening to alot of live DMB..they have close to 60 gigs released....live trax 15 is amazing..Alpine 08.09.08.........

I'm seenin Vedder in May at Ft Lauderdale....been listening to his solo live DVD a lot....must have show..love it....

I will listen to the Fargo show (almost done it as a matter of fact) and St. Paul and then take some time off - maybe listen to some Radiohead for a week - before moving on to eight big shows in June and, eventually, the historic July concerts.

  4. reporting without any emotion

In a phone interview last Friday, guitarist Mike McCready told the Weekly that Pearl Jam has officially began work on its tenth studio album. "We started yesterday," McCready said. Contrary to other reports, McCready said the band began work on the album only Thursday last week. He confirmed that the Seattle quintet has started to flush out demos internally and will be working with longtime producer/collaborator Brendan O'Brien on the record.

"We're in the process of everyone bringing their demos and getting their songs out there," he added.
Though in its very early stages, Pearl Jam fans will undoubtedly be
pleased that despite its members each working on their own projects
right now, the ground has been broken. (We were actually on the phone with McCready to talk about his band Flight to Mars, which makes an OC stop at the Observatory in May.) There is no timetable on the new Pearl Jam album's
release date. As McCready said, there's no rush to finish recording
    either. Stay tuned.
  5. They "just started' ? ...wow,I thought Stone said a couple of days ago "8 or 9 tunes are done"....hmmm
  6. Originally posted by EDDMB:Stone Gossard said in todays NME,that the band are "not in a rush",but that they may be "only a song or 2 away" from finishing the new album. He also said there is "no urgency" to finish.

Stone also said "I think its a good time to continue to experiment and continue to shake things up."

Hmm.......The band have so much going on..solo projects and all....I wish they would just spend 6 months in the studio and release an album..but thats just me....

    ..
  7. next U2 album will come out first
  8. I like that PJ are planning to try new things. I feel they've been "forcing it" with some of their more-recent songs like "Comotose" and "Ole." Those songs just don't suit them anymore.

For the record: I do love rockers like "Spin The Black Circle" and "Brain of J."

I agree..Ole is weak......but I do like most of Backspacer....
  10. I think Backspacer is a pretty solid album. It doesn't have anything on it that sounds forced. With "Avocado" I found they were trying to write a "mature" record but had too many slip ups. They, fortunately, succeeded with Backspacer.
