1. Going to see Van Halen tonight. Not really sure what to expect as i've stayed away from the setlists and any live videos. Expecting it to be a pretty decent gig though.
  2. don't know what their live efficiency is like lately but according to the last album and back in the catalogue (David Lee Roth era of course) it should be a very nice show at least.
    enjoy it!

It'll be a good show Brian, I've read some reviews etc. I'll be there on Tuesday, so post here and let me know your personal opinion of it. I'm looking forward to the show.

John Mayer cancelled his entire tour this morning so as long as I'm posting on here, know that I'm alive, but currently without much purpose. I'm twice as MAD as I am upset but that's a conversation for stronger ears/another time.

Tickets bought this morning for Radiohead and Dave Matthews Band.

My wife went to see Van Halen at MSG on Feb 28..She said they were great, and that Roth was in full command...the reviews here in NYC were very, very good for both of their sold out gigs at MSG....I would have gone, but I was in London...
  5. Glad to hear the good reviews, I'm looking forward to the show. Also looking forward to seeing Kool and the Gang open for them.

On a side note this concert couldn't coincide worse with sporting events for me. Syracuse playing tonight at 7 in the Big East Tournament and Buffalo plays in the conference semifinals at 930. Not to mention the live broadcast of the Springsteen concert at 8 on satellite radio...I need at least 2 or 3 of myself tonight haha

Ya i feel for ya Matt. Thought of you as soon as I saw the announcement. Only had it happen to me once and I know that it blows. Glad to hear you got right back on the horse with Radiohead and DMB though.
  7. Well, Van Halen was a blast. All the new ones sucked except Tattoo (which isn't exactly a great song, but it was decent live). The oldies were fairly flawless. Michael Anthony's backing vocals are missed, but Wolfgang actually does an adequate job filling in- I enjoyed his contribution tonight.

Highlights were Runnin' With the Devil, Panama, Dance the Night Away, and Beautiful Girls.

David Lee Roth stopped the show right in the middle of "Pretty Woman" and yelled at a group of guys for fighting. "We've got some of the prettiest women on the east coast with us tonight, and all you care about is fuckin' fighting? Fuck you!!" He had them kicked out and had the band start over at the beginning of the song. Pretty cool to see, was a first for me.

Snagged a setlist from the sound booth at the end of the gig. Was all the way in the top row, but managed to sneak down onto the floor while people were filing out and grab one.
  8. Great to hear, Matt
  9. Had to refrain from getting tickets for The Subways, as I have an exam on the 8th of May. Damn. But, one added, making it look like this now:

March 28th: Los Campesinos! @ Liquid Room, Edinburgh
June 7th: Coldplay @ Stadium of Light, Sunderland
June 20th: Pearl Jam @ MEN Arena, Manchester (may see them on the second night, not sure yet)
August 24th-26th: Leeds Festival - Foo Fighters, The Cure, Kasabian, Florence + The Machine, The Black Keys etc.

I was going to see Enter Shikari tomorrow night (because I was able to get tickets), but I'm seeing them at Leeds, so I decided against it.

Also, I suggest that everyone listens to Los Campesinos! Great indie band.
  10. Gonna take a listen to The Countrymen, Kieran! Thanks

I'm doubting on attending the Bruce Springsteen show... The two friends that were coming with me have passed/sold their tickets to other people, and I need the almost 70€ so badly... aaaaahhh

  11. Very nice. How were both Arctic Monkeys and The Black Keys?
