you're right again both for Navarro and for One Hot Minute, i consider it just a good album nothing more
Navarro is definetly underrated and often forgotten (or unknown) but he's a very good guitarist, i prefer him much more for the work with the Addiction rather than the Red Hot's
I never really cared for him as a performer- as a guitarist he's fantastic, but I just could never stand the people who were such literal rock stars and had no humility left, etc etc....but seeing Janes live changed my opinion of him. He pulls off the whole rock-in-your-face thing so well, you end up not caring that he doesn't give a shit.
I am completely hooked on Red Hot Chili Peppers at the moment. It would have been great if Frusciate was there tonight. Just imagine, the 4 back together for the FINAL time playing a 2 song set consisting of Californication & Give It Away. That would fucking kill me with excitement.
Last night at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony, they played:
By the Way
The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie
Give It Away (with Cliff Martinez and Jack Irons)
Higher Ground (with Slash, Billie Joe Armstrong, Ronnie Wood, Kenney Jones and George Clinton)
I'm killing to see that performance of Higher Ground.
"We Salute You", a six-track covers EP out May 1 on Warner Bros
01. "A Teenager in Love" (Dion and The Belmonts) 02. "Havana Affair" (Ramones)
03. "Search & Destroy" (Iggy and The Stooges)
04. "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" (Neil Young) [live]
05. "I Get Around" (The Beach Boys) [live]
06. "Suffragette City" (David Bowie) [live]
Some setlist change here and there, albeit the show being a little short for the amount of material they have. The only real complaint I heard from a couple of friends that saw them in Glasgow was that "they miss Frusciante". Otherwise, it's a really good show.

If you find it cheap enough. I got it for £2.80 — it was an absolute bargain for a mediocre album. It has some good tunes on it, but no thrilling stand-out.
