1. I love how blindly anti-west you are. The country that is probably "digging" most at the moment is China, or at least digging a lot. Heard anything at all about them buying up Africa?
  2. Albanian terrorists killed 5 innocent people 2 days ago in Macedonia.

    Month back
On March 10, several acts of violence were recorded in Skopje and the second biggest city, Tetovo. In Skopje, a group of youngsters beat a 66 year old. In addition, a wooden bridge over the Vardar river was burned.[1] In Tetovo, ethnic Albanians beat a 16-year-old girl.[5] Also, a policeman was physically assaulted. Five people were arrested.[1][/qoute]

Guess the Albanians want more than Albania and Kosovo. You give them a finger and they eat your whole hand. We are talking about small countries, why dont they move 50km over the border and leave others alone

    +1.

  4. I gave up on trying to understand that part of the world awhile back.
  5. In a democracy mob rules. Republics protect you from the mob.
  6. Happy to see the Istanbul talks went well.
There is this issue that came to my mind this time...I never wanted Iran to have nukes, I always said that we shouldn't be like that. But in view of Israel's recent actions and methods, and their many nukes and their not joining the NPT, I feel that maybe we should have nukes. Not to use them, but to stop Israel from using them on us.
Considering this, I can understand if the guys running the country are thinking about developing nukes.
I know, this is very cold-warish, but maybe the solution is to, at the same time, convince Israel to join the NPT and dismantle their bombs (maybe send them U2's HTDAAB for reference )
  7. Completely understand, world would be better of without the meddling of Europe and the USA, backing up the position of Israel.

Its soooo hypocrit that we all have nukes but point the finger if another country wants them.

That is right. IF the Iranian government is secretly building bombs, it's because Israel has bombs. Yes, Pakistan and India have some stuff too but they aren't considered active threats...Israel on the other hand...
Kind of makes me wonder if this whole nuclear situation is about world peace or preserving the strength and upper-hand that Israel has in the region right now.
I understand the point that the Iranian government is not considered trustworthy. But can the Israeli government be trusted? They are the ones with a record of preemptive strikes and attacking civilian areas "for the greater good".
You want to keep the world in peace, you get Israel to join the NPT and disarm. Then you can be sure that Iran isn't going after nukes either.
  9. Historically Israel is an extremely aggressive country, Iran is not. I dislike Israel and I think they're committing crimes against humanity on an every day basis. However, I think you could say the Iran government is doing that too, against its own people.

I'm really not very fond of either country. And I really don't like that Israel has nukes. But Israel is at least a democratic country.
  10. Good point.
Altho, keep in mind, Iran is not at all like North Korea or how Myanmar was few years ago. It's not even like Taliban era Afghanistan or Libya under Ghaddafi.
There is much more freedom and prosperity here compared to those countries. It's more similar to China or Russia. Some freedom, but very limited political system and, very little tolerance for opposition. There are many political prisoners and many people have been silenced.

But this said, yes, the government has committed many crimes, specially during the election protests. They are failing in many areas, the two most important ones being foreign policy and economic issues. And this is hurting the people.

BTW. the sanctions on Iran are hurting the people much more than they hurt the government...
  11. I am not very fond of China or Russia either

Yes, I think sanctions seem to be the wrong way to go with your country. I think a better option is to try to "assimilate" Iran by letting it take part in our world.

One I think very true thing that a guy who was on The Daily Show something like a month ago said was that an attack on Iran would kill democratic movements in the country.
