1. Well, unions are pretty big and it feels like the system is working well. It rarely leads to any insane stuff like it seems to do in other countries. However... unions do have less members than they used to... often I think because there are young people who don't understand what it is.
  2. I America they have lost popularity due to increased corruption on there part, and the fact that in most places working conditions are good enough that they are redundant.

Only 1 out of 10 Americans who isn't in a union wants to be in one.
  3. Also the amount of Americans for Right to Work laws are at an all time high.
  4. Well... your country has been hit a lot harder than mine by the economic crisis. Therefore I guess you could call the US a bit unstable at the moment. Sweden's economy is one of those that has fared the best lately. I won't say that the economic crisis hasn't affected Sweden, because it has. And the economy isn't totally stable. But I sure don't feel a sense of crisis.
  5. That dont have much to do with the diminshing popularity of unions though.

  6. I think it may indirectly have. For example... you talk about corruption, that can be a way out when you need money. And a reason for not being in a union could be that you don't care that much because you're just desperate for any work.
  7. Well right to work states have lower unemployment. Union bosses like to point out that they have lower wages, but the y also have lower cost of living so it tends to balance out.
  8. There are many systems that can work well.
  9. For the record I intend to move to a RTW state.
  10. Since I figured nukes were being discussed, I thought this would spark some interest to everyone posting about it:

A Quick Nuclear Weapons Pop Quiz
As we make noises about attacking Iran because of its alleged nuclear weapons program, a pop quiz:

    1. How many countries that possess a nuclear weapon have ever used one against another country?

    2. How many countries that possess a nuclear weapon have ever used one against another country that possesses a nuclear weapon?

    3. How many “nuclear” countries that the United States has deemed “crazy” or “irrational” at some point or other of time have ever used one against another country?

    4. How many countries that possess a nuclear weapon have ever given them to a terrorist group?

    5. If — IF — Iran builds a nuclear weapon, how many will it have? How many will Israel have? How many will the United States have?

If you don’t know the answer to all of these questions, please stop talking about Iran’snuclear threat.

I know we aren't supposed to put links, but I'm moving to Wyoming!
  11. I know all those questions.

And out of curiosity, why is a left-winger like you moving to a red state.
  12. Tension in Kosovo, Serbian villages, bordering to Serbia, want to take part in the Serbian elections.

The guy who drawed the border must be having a great laugh, wouldve have been a lot easier if the Serbian villages weren't forced into Kosovo. If two sides of a border, dont acknowledge the border, something is wrong.

Things wont calm down there for decades.
