  4. 'April 24, 2012: In an RTE article about Norah Jones, the author twice mentions U2's work with producer Brian Burton (Danger Mouse). The first mention says that Burton has "just finished" producing U2's new album, and the second mentions says he's "almost finished." from atu2

hopefully this hasn't already been mentioned.... ?

  6. ACOUSTIC Original Of The Species to be featured on Every Mother Counts 2012 (CD)

Most beautiful version of the song (possibly most beautiful U2 song) hands down.
  7. ^My favourite "Bomb" song, for sure.
  8. damn, video has been removed. is it a new recording or something taken from the bomb sessions?

  9. I don't know if its the fact that I haven't heard any new songs from then in FOREVER but I LOVE THIS :')
  10. I totally dislike it when they take an "old" song and want to sell them as new, just because they've changed a bit here or there

I think the origins of this song should be clarified.
    According to this article...

    http://www.atu2.com/news/acoustic-original-of-the-species-now-available.html

This version of the song was never released and I had also heard talk about this particular version (although never heard of it) for a very long time, so I assume it was recorded during the original Bomb sessions and just never found its way to a release. Additionally, I did a little background checking on the charity that they are releasing this song for (Every Mother Counts) and I believe it's for a very good cause. Also, the song's lyrics make it a perfect fit.

I understand why you would dislike it when artists "remake" an old song and sell it as new, but I wouldn't call this selling. Donating is a more appropriate term. It's the same thing when Walk On was put on a compilation CD in support of Japan after the earthquakes and tsunamis. This is an extension of U2's role as a charitable band and not a cash grab.
