1. Ottawa '05 encore is very solid. An acoustic sit down to start.A good version of Bee Girl opens. An acoustic version of I Believe In Miracles follows.Sleight Of Hand is played after, its a bit shaky..a shame,as I love that tune.Small Town wraps up the acoustic set.

Crazy Mary is the standout of encore 1.Its Mikes spotlight here,he delivers a master solo...Mike and Boom then duel on the Stairway solo...clocking in at 10 min, feels more like 3 min..just flows.....its an epic, must have version... a keeper.. to say the least .

Alive closes encore 1,in a wild, loud raucous version.Crowd cant get enough.

Encore 2 starts with a solid version of Given To Fly....rockin version of NFY follows, going into Daughter..once again its short...Im just used to the long jamming versions from '00 and '03 I guess, cause I dont really care for these short versions.

Harvest Moon..this was one of the best covers the band picked to play on this tour.Sounds great.Montreal has the best Harvest Moon IMO.

Leaving Here,RITFW then fantastic Yellow Led finishes up...

    5 stars.

This was really a great sounding show...must have gig no question....

Standout tunes Wash,I Got Id,Black,Betterman,Crazy Mary and Yellow Led ....

    Absolutely awesome!

I don't know if I'd put the version in my "top 10" but it's interesting hearing the U2 tags (Yahweh and Bad) at the end of "Daughter."

    LOL....a great great gig...

  3. honestly i haven't checked there .. i got it from the guy of pearljamonline.it site .. he's very reliable for what concerns PJ and related things .. he also wrote a very good book about them "Pearl Jam Evolution"
  4. I've never read a PJ book. I think that's something I should do.
  5. Pearl Jam Twenty is a quite good way to start
  6. That one looks big. Difficult to carry around.

    But you're right.
  7. Has EV ever stated why he frequently moans the first chorus of Jeremy instead of singing "Jeremy spoke in class today?"

    Not sure about this Matt....

You HAVE to read PJ20..yes,the book is huge..just read it at home....it's a fantastic read.
  9. I'm about half way through the Ottawa (2005) show - a nice listen so far, indeed.

(Don't know if any of you are fans but feel I must listen to some Beastie Boys today. Jeff Ament put a bost about MCA on their site)
  10. Hamilton,09.13.05...the 6th show in 7 days on the Canadian '05 Tour....show opens with Porch > Save You..very rocking start...great version of Spin The Black Circle,Animal (crowd singing along, keeper version) then Given To Fly....Eds voice is perfection here.

I love this start. No nonsense.Hard rocking.According to TwoFeetThick.com,this show was not sold out,and large sections in the upper bowl were curtained off.Crowd participation is great, and they sound very loud to me.This show reminds me of my Newark show (05.18.10).Under the radar, not sold out,b sides, strange set etc...

Sad is good.Followed by U,this is a bit of a change up.Too much though IMO.Corduroy picks it back up,but then 1/2 Full drops things down a notch again...uneven feel...dont like that set of tunes together at all.Corduroy after GTF would have flowed better IMO.

Plus,no Even Flow ? Drop U or 1/2 Full, place Even Flow in there, and look at how much better the set is...hmmmmmm..or how about Even Flow after Lukin ?..instead of Insignificance.

I could see Ed,Stone and Mike after the main set,backstage...Mike "Ed,what the fuck dude,no Even Flow ?"...Stone "Wow..what gives Ed?"...Ed,staring at the setlist (inside his marble notebook) in disbelief,is stunned, and is almost unable to respond, finally mutters while scratching his head "Shit..." lol

Daughter is very good here.It isnt a short, studio type version, as it was most nights on this tour.I Believe In Miracles tag sounds really good.

As Daughter fades,Lukin kicks in..a heart attack waiting to happen...Lol.

Present Tense is great.Ed introduces Mike, they nail it....perfect version.Ed toasts the crowd again.Chats them up.Nice words about Canada.

Untitled > MFC is always a great combo.

Jeremy,Betterman and RVM end the set in dramatic fashion.Crowd are great, check out the end of Jeremy..they are all over it....I had to go back, and listen to it again...The crowd again sound amazing singing the opening lines of Betterman,Modern Girl tag replaces Save It For Later..sounds awesome, short though.......RVM is its usual blistering self....very aggressive version...at 7min..not too long..keeper version for me...
  11. Sad about Adam Yauch.A Brooklyn native.....I loved their 80s and early 90s stuff...
  12. Hamilton the Encores...

The acoustic set continues for the encores on this Canadian tour,Thumbing My Way,Iam Mine, and a great version of Harvest Moon is performed.A friend of Ed is getting married,so the band put on tuxedo jackets, call out Sleater-Kinney for some backing vocals, and this version of Harvest is really special.

Black and Alive close encore 1.The crowd sound great, and are really singing along well.Alive ends the set on a good rockin note.

Encore 2 starts with Last Exit, into a rockin Go.From out of nowhere, the band break into In My Tree.Shocked it was played in this spot.Small Town follows, into a great Indifference.

Im sure some of the crowd thought that was it.But no,Sleater-Kinney are called back to the stage,RITFW is jammed..great version.Yellow Ledbetter wraps it,with Ed laughing during it.

    Solid gig.4 stars.

Stand out tracks Spin The Black Circle,Daughter,Betterman,RVM,Harvest Moon,Indifference and RITFW.
