1. Are there any other legal websites (other than pearljambootlegs.org) that have the 2005 shows? I'd like to get the missing tracks from the incomplete shows that I have downloaded from there.

  2. Wegotshit.blogspot.com
They also have a lot of good links to other harder to find web pages
that have lots of good stuff.
  3. Thanks. I've got quite a bit of stuff/shit there (like those 1990's remasters and the Live on Three Legs compilation) but didn't realize they had the official bootlegs there.

You can fit 2 cds on top of one another,Im not crazy about doing that, but it works, and saves space..and my cd's (cdr) do not have scratches from doing this.
  5. I haven't been able to start Kitchener today. Too busy at work.

I was able to get a complete copy of the show from the "spreading the jam" site. Ironically enough, I believe the guy who runs it is from Thunder Bay - a city (or maybe it's a town..whatever) that I was surprised the band played in 2005.
  6. I have to say..I listened to 2 shows today..Kitchener 09.11.05,and the "remastered" Berlin gig 11.03.96.....The Berlin show sounds amazing..much clearer sound..a bit louder, and the bass is more evident in the mix..I played In My Tree from Berlin, and then played it up against In My Tree from Columbus 08.21.00,Pitt 09.05.00 and St Louis 10.11.00...Berlin sounds better than Columbus and Pitt..and even a bit better than St Louis.Being that the boots from 2000 are Official boots, shows how dated they are now..and,mind you, the N American boots were mastered much better than the European boots from 2000.

I think Matt, without question, when we do the Pearl Jam-Live In the '90's mix,we can use Berlin, and maybe even the other remastered gigs.
  7. I think we should use JUST 1990's remasters gigs - at least for version 1.0. Between about seven or eight of the remastered gigs, Drop in The Park, Moore Theatre, Las Vegas 93, and Orpheum 94, I think we can make something pretty special/kickass.

THEN, when we need something to do, we could do something similar using tracks from more recent gigs/tours - version 2.0. I mentioned I was going to do something like this using 2008 and 2009 shows but I just wasn't feeling it yet - probably since hadn't listened to too many of those shows - so I have postponed that particular project.

The plan now is to continue listening to those 2005 gigs (both Canada and US) and make something there. However, without THAT many shows from the 1990's (I "only" have about 16 on my computer), a 1990's mix seems very managable.
  8. Kitchener 09.11.05

The set starts with a beautiful, moving version of Long Road. This was the fourth anniversary of 09.11.01,and Ed is in a very political mood this evening.Rockin' versions of Last Exit,Animal (intense great keeper version) Save You and Do The Evolution follow.Evolution has a flub, but Ed is really into it here, just screaming his head off.GTF is decent, but Matt is a bit off in parts..and Ed doesnt really SCREAM "A wave came..." etc.I love that part, and he has to go off, like during the Hamilton version. So far as I can remember, that is the BEST version on this tour for me.

Ed chats up the crowd, giving a toast, and is in a good mood.Best line.."Already you guys are making Edmonton seem like a bunch of pansies".Ed laughs and continues "Is that Edmontons nickname ?"....classic.

LBC follows.Nice version.Ed solo during the slow intro, band comes in.Sounds good.

After Insignificance,Ed goes off about the war in Iraq, and how some of the war planes engines,(Boeing) are made in Seattle and such.He says he's "sorry",cause those planes "drop bombs".I mean, really ? On this day of days Ed ? Planes ? Its all a bit much IMO.This speech then leads into Lennon's classic Gimmie Some Truth.Solid full band version.According to Two Feet Thick,Ed gives the finger during the "son of yellow - bellied Georgie Porgie" lines.Again,a bit much on this day of mourning. Why play Gimmie Some Truth on the anniversary of 09.11 ? Is 09.11 a lie ? What does the Iraq mess (mistake) have to do with 09.11 ? I did not want to go, into one of my famous political rants. But,since EV went off at this gig,and it is relevant to this show,I feel I should respond, and I will.

I would have appreciated some respect, and a mere mention of the 3000 + Americans and people of many other nations, who were murdered on that day by OSAMA BID LADEN.And,of course, out of much respect, a mention maybe, just maybe, of the 343 FDNY Heroes who died on that day, trying to save lives.I know Ed loves his country, and he,and I,are both angry about Iraq. But I feel on this day of days, more respect should be given to the victims, not rants about Bush. Not rants about Iraq, which happened 2 years after 09.11.

Maybe a rant about Bin Laden ?...nope...of course not...Maybe mention the people who died Ed,dedicate a tune to them ? ..nope......how about playing Release midset ?...nope.... I know Long Road is for them, but on that day,and every year, maybe some words please...about the VICTIMS PLEASE..........Ok..I will stop.I just feel sometimes, some of that is lost in his rants, and I respect his opinion, and the fact that he is a fellow American,he can say what he wants about our President.Wrong date for it though.

Ok......Faithful,a tune I really like,is played.Solid keeper version.Wild versions of Jeremy and Even Flow are then followed by Leatherman.Ed introduces Habit by mistake before Leatherman.

Killer,INTENSE versions of Habit (keeper) and Blood end the main set.I obviously know they are playing Blood because of the Iraq war,but,again,09.11 has nothing to do with Iraq.Maybe Im being too sensitive ? Maybe since Im a New Yorker, and I live a few blocks from Ground Zero ? Maybe because I know people who DIED that day ? I dont know........

Very good main set left me with very harsh taste here.

    Sounds good..Im on board Matt....
  10. I'm just listening to the Kitchener show as I'm typing this - about halfway through...just finshed Leatherman. I like the screw up beforehand (EV mistakely introduces Habit) and afterwards says something along the lines of "this is about when you put too many chemicals in your body that you forget how to introduce the next song."

One thing you mentioned was about EV calling Edmontonians "pansies." I thought the line, "Is that Edmonton's nickname?" was a response to the crowd chanting "Eddie, Eddie, Eddie."
Also, it's kind of funny that EV mildly insults Kitchener the next night in London.

  11. Just keep posting your reviews for the 2005 tour (Will you be including the handful of US shows? I hope so.) and we can put them all together in a few weeks. From there we can sort through and pick the best versions of each song.
  12. You might be right Matt..after GTF he thanks the crowd, and says "already you guys are making Edmonton look like a bunch of pansies".He laughs...and says "is that Edmontons nickname" as they are chanting Eddie...I thought he meant the pansies statement..the crowd are indeed saying "Eddie"..I thought they were happy cause of what he said about Edmonton...lol..either way its funny how he plays the crowds in each city...
