Nope, definitely not in the Orbit version

  2. really? I coulda swore I heard it faintly in the background... either way, not like it matters, Electrial Storm isnt on U22. or coming back anytime soon.

  3. I listen to the Orbit version quite a bit and I know that riff isn't there.

Also, Electrical Storm just felt off when it was performed. It's like Do You Feel Loved. It sounds amazing on the album, but live it feels off.

But as to why they are using videos to advertise the CD, I believe it's because they want people who haven't been keeping up with it as intently as we have to know that it's coming.
  4. $50 is probably why the're using videos me thinks.Still can't wait .

I can't agree more. We all bashed and beat up those performances when they happened back in 2009. I remember myself being genuinely amazed when I saw they had performed it in Barcelona2, and then watching the video and thinking "WTF is this shit?". Edge's horrible riff gets even worse at 3:55, with Bono's "Yeeaah" screams. It sounds awesomely out of tune and place.
  6. It just goes to show you how "being there" is so much different than listening to a bootleg.

This is the same reason why I stand my preference for them to NEVER drop Streets from their set.

In fact, I wasn't there when they played it on the 2nd Barcelona night I saw U2gigs' video at home.

But honestly: had I been there, sure my opinion would be pretty much the same => it's awesome that they played it, but this little thing ruins it a bit for me. I have got plenty of friends who were there and they think that.
  8. My mistake - I misread your post.

However, I am sure the crowd was really into it. The fact that they'd rarely played it combined with everyone in the stadium singing along would have made it great.

It does sound better in the studio version, doesn't it? However, a U22 remastering might have made it more than tolerable.

A U22 remastering would have only made it worse (e.g. make Edge's riff more prominent and listenable ) hahaha

But yeah, sure. As I said last night, in my opinion "a sub-par performance is light-years better than no performance at all"
  10. The U22 version sounds pretty good if I may say so. Bono's vocals seem off in places but on the whole, it's a track that I think I'd like to listen to a lot. Obviously, in the sample we don't hear that riff everyone is talking about, but what we do hear is quite a nice track. Sure, it's not as polished as the tried and tested tracks and maybe the rarity of it is swaying me towards wanting the full high-quality performance, but I like it.

The U22 version brings a calmness to the performance, something that is missing in the scrappy video. Of course, if there's a part of the song that people hate, that won't disappear either.
  11. U22 version of which song? Is Electrical Storm released ?
  12. Only the 45 second sample.
