Bomb is a successful attempt at bringing it to basic rock with some U2 flare, NLOTH is a failed attempt at going somewhere new but trying to keep one foot in the mainstream pool. C'mon U2, go all the way there or don't go there at all.

So much hate for Bomb. I still consider it to be U2's strongest album since AB.

Actually there was an album called Zooropa.
Only ATYCLB is weaker than HTDAAB. And maybe some from the early three.

Generally speaking, I find ATYCLB and Bomb to be their two strongest albums. I really like the musical styles of the two and I relate well with the lyrics.

Zooropa is a weird album for me. I have to be in a very particular mood to want to listen to most of the songs on that album. And I actually like ATYCLB quite a bit. Then again, I started getting into U2 at around 2008 and I don't listen to radio, so I didn't have to deal with ATYCLB being overplayed.
