1. I've been a U2start moderator for over 5 years now, I somehow feel myself qualified and allowed to do that

Now seriously... My life is going greatly in the last couple of weeks. Not only I'm partying alot, but I also got myself a really great job which will allow me to start saving money for a few whims (a laptop, yet another guitar and another -longer- trip to Eire). Life treats me well
  2. You can't keep using your elevated status as an excuse for your shortcomings, Mr. LikeASong. Suppose we can't all be perfect like myself.

But seriously, I'm pleased that you are happy with life, what could be more important?

That's great. Maybe you could buy your own country

  4. I don't even need a job for that. I think I could buy it just with what I earned by selling my Bruce Springsteen ticket
  5. Maybe you could actually get payed instead of paying
  6. Actually payed is just old... Not necessarily incorrect. But I think I usually use paid.
  7. It's incorrect in the context you were using it for though
  8. ^ English for runaways, lesson 3
  9. Watching a TV report about Naples and the horrible mafia situation and all that. Really horrible stuff. That an entire city can go so wrong.
  10. some of you might know I'm working in horse business.
One aspect of that is riding a horse-drawn carriage for weddings. Being in that business for about 16 years by now, I have seen many kinds of weddings.
But yesterday was one of those that stand out. I didn't really know who those people were we drove to church, all I care for is that I do my job right and in the best way possible, add my part to a day meant to be perfect. When I saw the huge number of guests at church, the way they were dressed, the way they behaved and talked (towards us and among each other) - I smelled money. Lots and lots of money. After all, they had booked us with a four-in-hand (4 horses instead of the usual 2), which is no cheap thing after all. But what did I care, a good job it was, and well paid (<-- !! ) for.
Anyway, today I read my newspaper over breakfast as usual, sports first. And I stumbled over the name of the newly wed couple we worked for yesterday. So I googled.
The groom is a pro football player, captain of a team playing in 2nd Bundesliga. No wonder I had the impression money was involved - rich football pros out there yesterday, I knew I was right celebrity alert
