1. How will they top this next year?

They could dig into their archives to create "U22s" for past tours (I would look forward to Elevation and Vertigo done in U22 fashion). They could release the remaining tracks that didn't make the U22 cut along with some other nice readable material.
  2. .... I'm now salivating over a Vertigo Tour U22....
  3. Man...they should release another DVD for 360. The Rosebowl one wasn't so good, and the tour really changed towards the end. Why can't they release another DVD from a night with special songs played? They released two DVDs for both Elevation and Vertigo.
  4. I'm still banking on an Anaheim 2 DVD. If you're looking for a special night, that was it. In terms of the trends set by 360, Anaheim 2 broke all of them. They shook up the setlist, introduced The Fly, had strong performances all around and a crowd that couldn't be more excited to see them.

Then again, I doubt they would release two DVDs recorded in Southern California...
  5. I went to six 360 shows, and they all were special. All six were better than the Rose Bowl DVD. I think if the focus on the music was the driving point, another show would've been selected, but for DVDs, U2 wants as many camera angles as possible, and wants a shaky camera that doesn't focus on anything for more than 3 seconds. Bono's vocals for Rose Bowl were more horsey hoarse than any of the shows I went to...

If I was in charge, I'd look at the six shows I went to...all would be release worthy, and just for the heck of it, I will rank them:

1: Raleigh, NC 10-2-09: This was by far the best one. It was a cool night in NC, with the Full Moon, and the band put on an excellent show. Bono's vocals were spot on for most songs, and the intro to Breathe sent chills down my spine. TUF was amazing. Bono did pretty good with the high notes. This show rivals Tampa 1987 and Miami 1992 for shows I've attended.

2: Nashville, TN 7-2-11: Very passionate show with a nice performance of "The Wanderer" as an extended snippet that was most of the song, as well, as one of the rare moments where a song was performed after MOS: "All I Want Is You," where after the show was over, Bono brings on a blind fan, hands him the guitar, and the guy knows the song! A great moment, would be a great DVD extra if this show never sees the light of day.

3: Atlanta, GA 10-6-09: Another great example of Bono's voice being in great shape, great show

4: Miami, FL 6-29-11: Great opening blitz of EBTTRT, The Fly was sublime...and great rare USA performance of North Star

5: Baltimore, MD 6-22-11: Great performance of Zooropa, and Stay.

6: Tampa, FL 10-9-09: Still a great show, but a rare October heat wave had the temperature at 90 at the show's end, and did not fall below 90 until almost 1:00 AM. Not sure if the heat affected the band much, but the show was a tad flat. Stuck in A Moment, and The Unforgettable Fire were highlights for me. Still, this was DVD worthy to me.

From what I gather, Zooropa from Baltimore is the only song from these six shows to make U22. A shame, because there were some great moments from these shows. Still, U22 should be great...can't wait to get mine.
  6. I know for a fact that if a second DVD were to be made, it would not be from any 2009/2010 show, or more specifically it wouldn't be from a show in which Breathe opened.

If they wanted to pick a show with energy, I would pick a show during the last NA leg, most definitely after The Fly became a regular fixture. I wasn't a fan of any of the HMTMKMKM performances, mainly because I don't like that song at all, but that's what they would probably pick...

Realistically, you are right. I believe in pipe dreams, so holding out hope for a 3 DVD set with a 2009 show, 2010 and 2011. With my luck the 4th DVD would be a bonus disc with every single performance of I'll Go Crazy(Remix). They would leave off the few performances of the actual song in the talk show promo tours.

Well. It came in the mail. And I made my brother send me the audio so I could have it to help me push through finals. So now I'm probably the happiest person on campus.
  9. Got mine in the mail today (Sydney, Australia). Happy days ahead!!!

  10. That's the one I predict we'll get within the next few years.

Next year, however? Either U22-2 or a ZooTV anniversary release - I hope.

  11. I'm so happy to hear that you've received it in OZ!!! I'm situated in Geelong so hopefully it arrives here in the next couple of days was thinking that being in Australia is would take much longer to arrive... happy days!!
