1. If you listen carefully at the end of "Out Of Control", you can hear "The future" very quietly playing in the background from where they cut out GOYB.
  2. I'm a little unimpressed by Zooropa. Don't quite understand the Bad/All I Want Is You/All I Want Is You/Love Rescue Me bit either.

Still, it's a great release overall.

That's one of the things I expected them to fail at
  4. Does anyone have a download link or a torrent so I can listen to the new U22?
I am also planning to subscribe to U2, but I can 't wait! Haha

Nobody is going to post a download link here. It's against house rules. Just from the audio I have (the rest of it is waiting for me at home), it's well worth the money.
  6. That version of Bad is one of the best things I've ever heard.

  7. YEP, even though we have it on the Rome bootleg and that bootlegs sound is incredible there's something about having it on an official release <3
  8. So here's my review of the CDs.

As a whole, it definitely encompasses the general "360" sound. All the sounds are large, crisp, mixed to fill up a room easily. Some people won't like the amount of echo present, but I find it appropriate for the large of the tour (definitely let me relive my GA gig experience). The transition between songs is extremely smooth, so the CD can be listened to as a complete concert or as individual tracks if you so desired.

EBTTRT: We've had this one for a long time and it's definitely a strong way to kick off the collection

The Fly: Bono's got that vocal distortion we've come to expect from his Fly persona. Edge's vocals are extremely clear in this mix. I know some people were disappointed that they added the random percussion beat you hear on the album and in the Elevation Tour performances, but they aren't nearly as pronounced in this mix as they were in most of the bootlegs. If you weren't paying much attention to it, you would think it was a Vertigo Tour style performance.

Mysterious Ways: A pretty solid performance of the song. Bono actually sings most of the "in mysterious ways" part. All in all, pretty enjoyable.

Magnificent: I really like this track. For me, how well Bono does the "Where we going?" intro is a make or break factor of the song and here he does it very well. It accompanies the musical intro of the song to build up energy. I'm really glad this song made it as one of only two songs from the new album.

UTEOTW: This was the track that won me over. The later performances of this song were all top notch, but they chose a particularly special performance for U22 and I'm glad they did. The track is dedicated to Frank Sinatra and Bono appropriately snippets Strangers In The Night (very damn well, might I add). One of the best tracks of all.

ISHFWILF: There was a lot of controversy surrounding this one after it was made available for download. Like I said then, the trumpet doesn't ruin the song nor does it overwhelm the the other sounds. it's actually a pleasant addition and is mixed extremely well.

Stay: I'm glad an acoustic track made it and I'm even more glad it was Stay. Probably the best official release of Stay I have ever heard (sorry, Boston. No comparison at all). There's not really much else to say about it.

One Tree Hill: Another one we've had for a while. Also the best recording of the song you'll ever find. Some will say that Point Depot is comparable from a performance standpoint, but I'll go forth and say that the quality of the sound and performance here blow Point Depot out of the water. Plus, all the other bootleg recordings of One Tree Hill from the 360 and Vertigo Tour are all well below average.

Beautiful Day: Celtic intro, but no space station video. All in all, highly enjoyable.

Elevation: I wish they chose a different performance, one with a longer instrumental intro and a bit more interaction between Bono and the audience. I'll admit the part at the beginning with just Bono sounds a little odd.

Bad: As mentioned by others, the U22 version sounds very similar to some of the high quality bootlegs of the Rome gig. No complaints about that since that bootleg could have easily passed as an official release. The "All I Want Is You" snippet is a very nice addition, even if it's the next track. This is your typical extraordinary performance of Bad.

AIWIY/LRM: Very strong performance with many great snippets.

TUF: I believe this song benefits the most from this particular type of mixing. The aura of awe and mystery presented by the song is amplified by the large sound, the echo, the crisp piano and eerie riffs from the Edge.

Zooropa: The track starts off with the questions segue, which totally elevates the song to a different level. As with TUF, the mixing highlights the mood presented by the song. Some people aren't a fan of Bono's voice distortion, but I find it totally fitting. It makes Bono sound like an outsider, the perfect spokesman for Zootopia. It's very easy to lose yourself in thought when listening to this song. Trust me, I almost missed my bus stop today while listening to this track.

CoBL: In my opinion, one of the best recordings of the song. Even better than the Chicago and Milan DVDs. I really like the crispness of the drums.

MLK/Walk On: I'm glad they added MLK to this track. It makes Walk On so much more powerful. However, I do wish they choose to use the Munich performance so they could have MoTD lead into Walk On. Regardless, the MLK/Walk On combo is great.

One: Good performance, but no snippet at the end, unfortunately...

Streets: Another ok performance of Streets, but no snippets at the beginning. Bono comes in a little bit early in the first chorus, but it somehow works out in the end. I really wished the mixed One and Streets as a continuous track with a nice snippet in the middle, like they did with Bad/40/Streets on the Electrical Storm single.

Ultra Violet: A very good performance of the song with a couple possibly humorous lyrical interpretations (What is your love like, Bono? A podcast?). Still a really good track.

WoWY: A typical 360 performance of the song. No snippets, though...

MoS: Another new album track that I'm glad to see. Also, the surprise at the beginning was totally unexpected and also totally telling about the rawness of the band when it comes to their live performance style.

OoC: A good way to finish the CD, even if the song doesn't actually appear at the end of the gig from which it came.

So in general, I felt that all the tracks benefited from the mixing process, but some more than others. Additionally, U22 presents an opportunity to acquire some high quality recordings of songs that simply don't exist through free bootlegs (One Tree Hill, Zooropa, TUF, Stay). I haven't had the opportunity to gaze upon the other physical aspects of the collection since it's at my home away from college, but I bet they are fantastic as well.
  9. It's so incredible and touching to hear Bono reciting one of the most important Croatian songs during Beautiful Day both in English and Croatian language.
  10. I think overall the recording is great, and all the band perform very well. It's sad to say, but Bono's voice is not what it once was, and unfortunately it shows on a lot of the tracks...Can't push it like he used to, and understandably so. I must say- I think this tour was OWNED by Adam Clayton. To me he performed brilliantly all tour long, and his playing was amazing!! Also about the recording- I thought the drums could have been a little more prominent...Then again, I'm a bass and drums lover anyway LOLOLOLOL
