1. But still, many poor countries not on that list.

  3. List may be incomplete (Russia is missing and several other countries) but perfectly follows the graph for the rest? And again, you cant equate murder (especially intentional) murder with all crime in total.

Didn't mean like a theocracy, but that the US is still seen as some sort of a new Israel by a lot of people (I'm not saying it's stated in your constitution). That's the reason a lot of catholics from England and Ireland moved there.
But the fact is, there is no country in Western Europe where someone can't be elected if he's not a Christian. In the US a candidate has to state he's a Christian to even have a chance, which is very weird given that most Western countries are going through a process of secularization

No, but it sure is the worst crime.
  6. Of course, but a relatively small part of the total.

If I live in Belarus, I would probably see less crime than I do here in Holland. And if I behave the chances that some random dude wants to kill me is small.

If you feel like having democracy and don't like the leadership...
  8. Many others on that list which are a democracy. Stand by my point. Poorer countries dont necessarely have more crime.

The problem is that this is about registered crimes. Developed countries do have numbers which are more secure.
Still I believe that some petty crimerates as theft might be higher in the developed world, but the chances of the worst crimes (rape, murder) are way higher in the under developed world..
