    Yep.

We tend to swerve off topic on a lot of these types of threads - it would be good to have somewhere to go.

BTW, gotta go do some consults now.

    Back in a bit...

Well, DVD Shrink told me that my loss was a 2%, so the quality remained in a 98% as the original

You mean that all the DVD"s that are shared on u2torrents for example, (and first they were surely received in trade on DVD discs) are inferior in quality to the original *material* version?
I thought u2torrents always stressed that they accept only lossless material.
Yes, they do that but only with Audio. It's IMPOSSIBLE to share the actual files that someone recorded with his camera. That files use to be 15 or 18 GB weight. Too weight, if you ask me. Therefore, all videos there are compressed (but the image quality of cameras nowaday is SO high that even compressing it to a 30%, quality remains very good!). Have I explained?
  8. 1 terabyte? That's crazy. 512MB does me fine.

Its a terabyte of hard disc space (if you're referring to the iMac). Not RAM. The RAM's 1GB I think.

    Even so; still enormous!!
  10. 1 TB is insanely big.
  11. Using DDR2 667MHz if I remember correctly. 1TB for drive space is amazing. Just a year ago DVD burners (8x) were about $400, now you can pick them up with a copy of Nero at 16x speed.

    Technology is amazing nowadays.

But back to the topic of DVD ripping...how did MTR go for you?
