Russia and China are worried that sanctions or a war against Syria leads to USA gaining more control in the zone - but their purely geopolitical thought is leading to thousands of crimes against humanity.

    +Russia's export of weapons to the Assad regime.

    I believe that if Russia withdrew its support of Syria and started condemning it as well... things could change.

  4. Well they admit they crossed into airspace for a while. Ofcourse shooting it down immediately is not nice. But the turks took a risk. I mean its not that they change those borders daily That said, again, Syria shouldnt have shot the plane down.

    I am not sure if military intervention works. Iraq is more dangerous than it was before, Afghanistan is still a complete mess and it's too early to tell for Libya. Also enough evidence that some of the freedom fighters have ties with terrorists. It is not an easy situation.

    By far the best way on the long term, although the slowest and in short term probably the most crappy is that support for Assad drops from the inside. Throwing bombs now is a pretty good way to make sure the two parties wont stand each other for the next couple of decades if not more.

  6. Syria would be much tougher to have a military intervention against. Their military is strong and their country is small (compared to the likes of Libya) which makes it easy to defend.


  7. Higher crime rates are usually in places with lower education and higher unemployment and are not related to gun laws.

  9. On Syria topic. Turkey airplane should never flew above Syria and that's it. Of course they shoot it down, they're in the middle of civil war. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying it's something you would expect in that situation.

    Military intervention will never happen there because Russia and China won't let it. They've been pretty clear about it because they don't want the same mess that happened in Libya which is in ruins and chaos today.

    Oh, yeah, because the Syrian government seems so trustworthy. And I doubt they'd want to negotiate Assad's removal from power. And I wonder... wouldn't it be fair if they stopped getting weapons from Russia then?

    Russia Today is owned by the Kremlin who gladly sells weapons to Syria. You could even say the Kremlin is a dictatorship itself.
  12. Well I am in dubio about the Syria situation. There has been substantial proof that some of the parties in war are connected to Al Qaida. And I am also bit pessimistic what the media tells about this all.

    In these days there are only a few big news coorporations, the rest just copies it. Go to your favourite news site and big chance that all is from the same source. Also the further people are the more difficult it is to see whats going on.

    In my opinion the Arabic League is on point on this one, and not us.
