  4. Would it surprise anybody if Coldplay *didn't* haul their asses back to London to perform in either the opening or closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games?

    I, for one, would be both shocked and disappointed if Great Britain didn't showcase one of the best live acts in the world for their games.

    Ahn, I wouldn't be disappointed (GB has a lot, lot, lot of great artists, Coldplay is not the only great thing that's come from the islands in the last decade), but I'd really like them to perform at the closing ceremony. I can totally see it, a quick Viva La Vida + Paradise set in the middle of the stadium. I would be delighted.

    PS. Is it ok with caling you "ahn"? We don't know your real name so I guess ahn will suffice
  6. Well the closing ceremony has Blur, which is good enough for me - even if Damon Albarn's voice has went tits up in the last couple of years. I think there's also Paul McCartney, The Who, Emeli Sande, Adele, One Direction (ugh)... and all that. They tried to get different artists from different genres and generations to suit everybody. I believe the closing ceremony comes from different venues, but I'm not too sure. I know Blur are playing at Hyde Park, but I think people like Paul McCartney are at the Olympic Stadium.

    My name's Alex. "ahn" happens to be the uncreative username I came up with at the time.

    Also, they already released the artists performing at the Olympics? It's a shame Coldplay's not on that list, especially for the closing ceremony. They would have just wrapped up the latest leg of their tour and I think performing for the world's greatest athletes would have been an amazing way to close it.

    But One Direction... no me gusta...
