I'd prefer him as president instead though. But yeah, he seemed to be a great politician.

He himself seems to have said he's not interested though.

Its been implied he'll take it if asked though.
  2. I'd say the supreme court ruling is a blessing in disguise for the right. Gives us something to rally around.
  3. It's good for Obama too though
  4. Chief Justice Roberts seems to have been the swing vote? Have the others voted "traditionally"... Interesting that.... Because Justice Kennedy is generally the swing vote.
  5. He may have won the battle, but I assure you we will win the war. America will not become a pseudo-marxist nation on my watch.
  6. I think it's nice that perhaps people won't die because they can't afford insurance. Every other industrialized nation in the world has health care.

Romney speech was kinda funny. He pretty much said "we'll keep Obamacare but without the people having to pay for it". WTF?
  7. "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated: but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth." - C.S. Lewis
  8. Obamacare is not about health care. Its about power, pandering to special intrest, and hoping to eventually collapse the system.

Actually, I don't feel like I live in a tyranny. I live in a democracy and in the next election I'll vote for who I think has the best plan for my country.

    WTH? How so?
As Olof said, healthcare for everyone is no tyranny.

I really don't like it when people respond to arguments with quotes from famous people, mainly because it doesn't mean anything if something was said by you or by a famous anyone, it's the substance that matters.

But, it's a very good quote. It mainly refers to something like what the Iranian government says its doing. They have these special police forces in the streets that are there to make sure young people abide their interpretation of Islam, no matter what that person's beliefs. So they go around taking girls without full hejab, people who have alcohol with them, boys and girls going out together and act like they are criminals.
This, supposedly, is done for their own good. So that they can return to "true islamic values" they say...
This is the kind of thing that Mr. Lewis is talking about. How is this related to your healthcare situation?
