    We almost won the WC with van Marwijk, van Gaal never even qualified for it, with a team with just as much talent and posibillities.
    There are a lot of ego's in the team right now. Which is what brought van Marwijk down, and is a thing van Gaal could never really cope with..
  4. Hmmm well imho the coach should not matter with pro's at all. And if you look back at the WC, it was more luck than that we deserved to get to the final.

    Only games Holland played attacking was against countries like Andorra. Van Gaal has a big mouth, but he has an ego of his own. That might help.

    I'll give you that we had a lot of luck against Brazil, and that the rest of the opponenst weren't really good (Slovakia, Uruguay).. Still he managed to every player in the team to play for Sneijder, who in my opinion deserved to win the title of best player of the tournament. There's not gonna be a team that's willing to play for each other. And if you start attacking all out, as is the Ajax game, which van Gaal is probably gonna introduce, the already weak defense will even get more pressure on them.. I don't see this safari ending well..

    Still I'll be the first to recognize I was wrong when he's holding the throphy in 2 years (hopefully not in lederhosen though!)

    I'm trying to stay positive. I don't like LvG but his antics with the press are legendary.

    We've still got a good group and Louis vG might be the guy to incorporate some young talents into the squad; the Dutch U17s are Euro champs, twice in a row. But I would rather have seen Pep Guardiola, with Kluivert and Neeskens as assistants. Plenty of our players speak/understand Spanish, Pep is ok in English and Kluivert and Neeskens could translate as well.

    Pep's philosophy would work for our team. We've got better defenders than Puyol, Piqué and Ramos and those guys managed to win the World Cup.

    I loved van Marwijk but he should've built the team around RvP this time and should have dropped either Schneijder, de Jong or van Bommel. In stead he should have played a proper 4-3-3 with Affelay in midfield, Robben left and Kuyt, perhaps Narsingh, right.

    Schneijder and Heitinga sucked this tournament and cost us games. Huntelaar and Rafa vdv were useless as subs. He only played them because the press was hounding him to do so.

  11. Hmm i disagree about Sneijder deserving the best player of the tournament 2 yrs ago. He had some luck, but he had a big ego. Freekicks from literally > 30m out, he shot directly in to the wall. Not one, two or three times, but all the time.
