  1. Going to see them tomorrow, couldn't be more excited! I've been trying not to listen to them for a few days so by the time the concert rolls around I'd be more excited haha.

  3. Saw them in Philly on thursday..show was very very good,but they played for only 90 min..and had not 1,but 2 opening acts..dont go in before 8pm..they came on at 9..show was done by 1035...

    That's the typical beef with Coldplay shows. I think I would be willing to see them live, but maybe not GA because their sets are so short.

  7. Thought I'd give my thoughts on the show last night.

    Got into the arena and walked around for a bit looking for our seats. I was hoping our view wouldn't be too obstructed because we had bought them close to the stage, and I knew if they were too far to the left of the stage we might not be able to see anything. Luckily though, we were parallel to the platform stage right (Jonnys side)

    As for the opening acts, I thought Wolf Gang is a great up and coming alternative band. Missed half their set while I was buying a t-shirt though... As for Robyn, this was the biggest WTF moment of the night. I could see her opening for Lady Gaga or Madonna before I could see her opening for Coldplay. She did a cover of Teardrop which just about no one in the arena got into because they were all confused as to what was going on hahaha.

    As the roadies were testing everything, 99 Problems came on. This, and the xylobands lighting up, ignited the crowd. I know American crowds are usually dull and boring, but I didn't think this one was. We did the wave before the show had even began.

    As MX/Hurts Like Heaven came on, I had my first "Wow." moment when the whole arena lit up. The band were on fire with all of the energy we were feeding them.

    In My Place, which usually never strikes a chord with me, did for some reason last night. I guess at my first show I really didn't know the song too well, but it sounded great last night. Jonnys guitar and Wills drums are what did it for me, no need for the confetti or Chris jumping around like a maniac.

    Major Minus was insanely good, Jonny nailed that. Lovers in Japan was great, always good to hear it played, and always magical with the confetti, plus the balloons.

    Before The Scientist was played, Chris played something on the Piano. I don't think it was an instrumental Reign of Love...but it could have been? I'd have to look up a video or ask the Oracle to see what it was. Don't quote me on that. Scientist went over well, I was surprised how much the crowd was into that song.

    Yellow went over great, especially with the Piano opening. I was actually disappointed they didn't do the Yellow balloons, but no biggie, it was still a great song. Violet Hill went over great, it was as big a guitar anthem as I remembered.

    GPASUYF was interesting to see. A few hours before the show, Will posted a picture of a "guitar having surgery". Obviously it was Chris' from the toss at the end of the song. I noted to my friend that the guitar he was playing was brand spanking new, it had no graffiti on it and was very shiny. It look like he debated on tossing it, but it ended up he threw it anyway I loved the new arrangement of the song.

    PoC went over well, although I'm not sure as to how many in the audience were singing Rihanna's part. Up In Flames went well too. I was for sure thinking people would sit down during that song, but no one did.

    Warning Sign, which is a beautiful song, was a highlight...until Chris fucked up. I feel like he purposely fucks it up, its not the first time I've seen him do it this tour. He went on a little rant about how it'd all be on YouTube and then got back to the song.

    DLIBYH was good, but I didn't think it was as great as I expected it to be. No one really seemed to be going nuts, and I didn't think it sounded as good as the Emirates recording. No matter, still glad it was played. Viva was a crowd pleaser, as it always is, and I don't think the place got any louder the entire night.

    Charlie Brown: 2nd "Wow." moment. Probably the best performance of the night, and one of my favorite songs. It was simply amazing.

    Paradise sounds a lot better live than on the album IMO, and this proved it to me. As for the C Stage, Us Against the World was great, not one of my favorites, but still good. Speed of Sound was excellent, the crowd really seemed pleased with it.

    Clocks was great, really enjoyed it in person rather than on a recording. Fix You was another great moment. Truly a great live song, crowd pleaser, and sing a long.

    Teardrop was my 3rd "Wow." moment. I didn't think I would be as into it as I was, but it was spectacular in person. Between Jonnys guitar and Wills drums (again), it may have been my 2nd favorite song of the night. I had no idea it was that good live.

    Overall, one of the best concerts I've ever been to (not sure where it places among the 2 360 shows I saw). Just wish it had lasted longer (cliche).
  8. And in other news, Mylo Xyloto is a 6 part comic, and not part of the Coldplay Film. I don't know how to feel about that, mainly because I'll have to keep buying it.

  9. Great to hear that you enjoyed it Andrew I seriously regret not getting tickets when they came in June. I toyed with it for ages then I suddenly had an urge, but was too late. My loss.

    God Put A Smile has been consistently played on Chris' brown Telecaster (non-graffitted) for the past years. I haven't seen any videos from the US leg yet, but I'd be surprised if he suddenly changed the guitar he's been using for the last 4? 5? years. The guitar they posted pic of during "surgery" was heavily graffited, it wasn't the same. Latest GPASUYF I've seen is the one from Emirates (London, June 1st) and he was using the brown, non-graffited Tele. I'll have to take a look to a more recent video though
