1. No worries emiel, I've been busy myself and when I haven't, the chance to listen to the show hasn't presented itself. I will listen one night this week though. Already decided the next round.
  2. ups...i understand that this week will be for the review.....
  3. I am terribly sorry for my absence. Moving jobs, houses, etc, etc, is taking it's toll and I'm currently shooting between Manchester and Lincoln (about a two hour drive each way), sometimes with a child, so I've been a bit busy.

Anyway, I had a quiet couple of hours tonight so I thought I'd give the show a listen all the way through in one go. I have listened to it twice in the car, but not all the way through. So, here's my review:

    Performance - 4.5 stars

I’m a sucker for an “atmospheric” entrance (MLK or The Ocean as openers are fabulous IMHO), and Hawkmoon delivers. Superb performance of an underrated song. And the Desire/All Along duo is perfect to follow up and really get the party started. A proper heartfelt rendition of AIWIY leads into a song that really, really, really should make a comeback SOON. God Part II. Superb. BTBS is awesome and the speech at the end of RTSS really has meaning in the space and time. Now, another song that needs a comeback – Loosen my lips! It must be Gloria! IWF and ISHFWILF are standard performances, but Knocking On Heaven’s Door is immense. Bono’s improvisation on the lyrics just brilliant. Then…Bad! Really good performance. VDL is lovely. And in NYD we get a rare run out of the “maybe the time is right” lines. Pride is a decent finish to a very good main set. The Lovetown encore was great and Angel/Lovetown doesn’t disappoint. LRM is superb towards the end of a set and then the regular “40” to finish off a mega night.

All in all, a great performance. Bono’s voice is at it’s height of power on Lovetown and the whole band seem to be having a party.

    Audience - 5 stars

So up for the show! No doubt spurred on by the wait for the bomb scare!

    Sound - 3.5 stars

A decent recording, but not up to scratch with other Lovetown shows from Point Depot. But then again, it is an audience recording. Can't complain at all really.

    Overall: - 4.5 stars

    Highlights:
    - Hawkmoon
    - God Part II
    - RTSS
    - Knockin on Heaven's Door
    - Love Rescue Me

    Lowlights:
    - That God Part II isn't played anymore!!! :-(
  4. No worries Nick, I think we've all been a bit busy this round I agree with you on God Part II, I'd love to hear them play it again. As I would with Gloria actually. I'm going to review it tomorrow, I NEED some Lovetown!
  5. I need two days more ....
  6. It's ok Pato, we've got until Sunday
  7. Right, it's entering my iPad or iPod today and I'll probably review it tonight
  8. Tim, ready to get the round table up again?
  9. Sure thing, I'll contact someone soon.
  10. I'll admit it now. This is one of those threads that I have never read, and I have no idea what it's all about. What on earth goes on in here?
  11. Read the first post haha

A lot of members have dropped out though, so we're a bit thin on the ground.
  12. Sounds like a great idea. Needs to get back off the ground.
