Hungary 2010, almost putting Barrichello into the wall down the pit straight. Seems the FIA will only wait until an accident before they act, rather than punish those with clear intent before these things happen.
  2. Well that is ages ago But i agree, was penalty worthy
  3. I think the 1 race + 50k € penalty is WAY too harsh, Grossjean only hit Hamilton for a few centimeters worth, it was obviously NOT intentional and if it was Hamilton or ALonso who had done it, there would have been only a grid penalty for them => unfair.
  4. Grosjean crashed 7 times in 12 starts. An accident waiting to happen. It was clearly his fault and reckless to go from the left to the right like he did.

You cant blame him completely everything that happens afterwards, but still I think it is a good decision. He wont appeal either.

Alonso counting his blessings tonight, might have joined the lord today.
  5. Is it me that thinks it isn't enitrely Grosjean's fault? It's mostly his, but not entirely.

About the penalty, a little harsh maybe, but not massive.

I'm relieved that Alonso is fine though. I have seen bigger near misses before though. For example, Wurz and Coulthard in Australia in 2007.
  6. It's been fucking crazy, I've seriously worried for his life.

I agree it is not his fault entirely, but if one causes crashes in 7/12 races that one deserves a punishment. Combined with the reckless move today I still think it is fair.
  8. Yep, Grosjean isn't the best of drivers. I questioned the decision for him taking that seat. Hopefully, D'Ambrosio does a stellar job at Monza and then replaces him for the rest of the season.

Hamilton should take part blame for it and should have been given at least something, or even a talking to. He needs to really calm down actually.

Also think back to Schumaker in Abu Dhabai in 2010 with Luizzi, though no one was to blame for that. What Grosjean did is probably common place at most starts (ie, moving to the right and not checking your mirrors, or misjudging the distance to the car behind), and Grosjean was abit unlucky that Hamilton was up the inside. Again, it was Grosjeans fault, but unintentional, and drivers previously have got away with only grid penalties for intentionally putting other drivers at risk.
  10. Yes, exactly. I think the stewards only focussed on the impact of the accident and didn't look at the importance of what happened to trigger the impact. If Hamilton was getting shoved off, it was because Grosjean was wanting to keep that position at the first corner. Maybe Hamilton should have backed off.
  11. @Hans, still he collided 7 times in 12 races with someone at the start of of a race. Maybe a race exclusion is harsh, but a 10 place grid penalty wouldve been far to weak imho.

The Abu Dhabi incident was completely different imho, if i remember correctly Schumachers rear tire lost traction on the race line and he spinned in the middle of the corner. Liuzzi was not to blame to hit him.
  12. Kieran, you're right, I didn't remember about this crazy stuff:
