It's not really about the feeling of superiority. It's prejudice, radicalism and some misunderstood views based on messed up interpretations.
I do believe tho that this "movie" was only made to provoke, that's the only purpose of it and it was quite successful at that.

There are radicals every where and in every religion. There is more in these areas and it's not really because of the culture or the religion. I personally think it's got more to do with the history of these people and what they have been through.

There were attacks by terrorists calling themselves Muslims on America and this led to a lot of Islamophobia in the west. The same has happened to these people, years and years of suffering and tyranny caused by dictators mostly put in place, supported and aided by western governments has led to some kind of "west-o-phobia" or mistrust towards all things related to western countries. And this is what causes such harsh reactions.

Don't get me wrong tho, I do not and will never justify the kind of reaction this movie got, I'm just trying to help you guys understand. I believe the best reaction to this movie would have been either peaceful protests or simply governments in the area condemning it and maybe asking for its removal from youtube.
  2. To be clear, I completely agree that that movie was made to provoke. As you said peaceful protests would be fine.

And I do believe that factors you mentioned contributed to the west-o-phobia there.
  3. We had elections two days ago. (yes, in the middle with the glasses and blond hair, thats me)

We (D66) won 2 seats, far-right and far-left (both anti-Europe) lost heavily or didn't win. We, the most pro-Europe and most progressive party won dispite the battle of liberals VVD and labour PvdA (two of our biggest concurrents), hopefully this is a forebode for the rest of Europe. And now forward.
  4. Disagree with the pro-Europe D66, but still a cool picture! Congrats with the 2 seat win
  5. Why terrorism is rampart today?
  6. Cause its only cool when Muslims kill Christians.
  7. Watching the israeli prime minister's speech from yesterday...I kept remembering this cartoon:

I really liked speech that Ahmadinejad gave in UN day before Netanyahu. That guy just wants to see the world burn.

I didn't agree with all that Ahmadinejad said, but he really was sounding much more moderate than before, he also offered to have direct talks with the US and to stop enrichment if sanctions are lifted and our uranium for medical use is provided by the west...which sounds pretty good.
