1. Madness on Later with jools holland:

    are they playing it faster?
  2. Can't check it out at the moment, but it would make sense. It's a relatively slow song, and playing it a little faster would help Matt with the 'loooooooveeeeee' screams, which are quite hard to get right due to their length (faster speed = shorter screams). Just thinking out loud.
  3. I don't think so.
They are just skipping some lyrics just before 'I need your love':

'And now I have finally seen the end,
And I'm...I'm expecting you to care'
  4. That is the coolest bass guitar I've ever seen!
  5. An update, because I only played the album once when I reviewed it for the first time.

    1. Big Freeze (9/10) - I really..
    2. Panic Station (9/10) - ... cannot choose.
    3. Unsustainable (8,5/10) - Sorry Sergio.
    4. Animals (8,5/10) - The guitar in the background reminds me of the Dire Straits and I love that. I guess I will cut the screaming off sometime soon.
    5. Madness (8,5/10) - The Paraparaparadise syndrome: you have heard it about a hundred million times, it is still a great song, but every time you hear it the experience gets worse.
    6. Save Me (8/10) - It gets better and better and better.
    7. Isolated System (7,5/10) - Lacks a climax.
    8. Explorers (7,5/10) - OK.
    9. Supremacy (7,5/10) - I think the Bond song is a bit overrated. Good song, though.
    10. Follow Me (7,5/10) - First part is Eurovision Balkan style. Gets better after that, but still not a masterpiece.
    11. Prelude (7/10) - Nothing changed: listen to Prelude, skip Survival.
    12. Liquid State (6/10) - Not bad, not the thing I like.
    13. Survival (4,5/10) - Still crap.

Yea, my mistake, just timed some parts of it and it's the same...don't know...when I first listened it the initial beats and "ma ma ma ma.." seemed a bit faster than usual :-/
  7. Panic Station has been stuck in my head since the first time I heard it. Cannot. Get. It. Out.

'And I'm NOT expecting you to care'
  9. So I just discovered what the broccoli on the cover really is. I didn't know. It is interesting.

I had to copy-paste, because I didn't know the lyrics. But then again, Matt fucked them up at Stockholm, twice.
  10. listening to the iTunes stream, essited!!!
  11. So I think i have given it enough listens through at this point to accurately throw up some initial ratings. Ratings based on how i feel the songs fit in with other Muse stuff.

    1. Supremacy (8.5/10) I really like it but something is preventing me from liking it more and i'm not sure what it is. Too much down time in the song maybe?
2.Madness (9.5/10) Loved it the first time i heard it. Still love it. Expect to continue to love it.
    3. Panic Station (9/10) This could be one I could see going down in the future after more listens but right now I'm totally in.
    4. Prelude (NR) Is this really a song
    5. Survival (2/10) Among the contenders for worst Muse song I have ever heard. Hate it but I'm open to it growing on me a little.
    6. Follow Me (8/10) I like this one. Not sure why but I do. I like the strange dubstep influences. 2nd half of the song much better than the first
    7. Animals (8/10) Like this one significantly more than I did the first time I heard it. A rating I could see going up. Really like the lyrical content of this one.
    8. Explorers (6/10) meh
    9. Big Freeze (9/10) Another one that I loved as soon as I heard it. Could see this going down also but the song that gives me the biggest Resistance vibe on the album.
    10. Save Me (4/10) Don't like it. Wouldn't be as bad if Matt was singing.
    11. Liquid State (5/10) A little better than Save Me for me. Best song name on the album imo for what it's worth. Again why is Matt not singing?
    12. Unsustainable (7/10) It's cool if you don't take it to seriously. I'd never want to hear it played "live" but i kinda like it on the album
    13. Isolated System (7.5/10) Like it a little bit more than Unsustainable but i really view them more as two parts of a whole than as separate songs.
