1. they probably are dead-hard fans hehe
  2. Silly might have been the wrong word..how about predictable..or..I hate to say..nothing new ? or same old same old.?....like my NY Jets...same old Jets...

Its good they are still together..no question...but as I have said for years now,I would rather they take a year off from PJ,do solo ventures..then record and do a real tour..but,I know that wont happen...
  3. Originally posted by EDDMB:Hahahaha, thats true..but what Im saying is,playing the same songs year after year..it gets stale....U2 even busted out different songs in 2010 to break things up,and they never do that...lol

There is still a bit of a difference, however. Pearl Jam will play over 100 songs a year and change up their set - therefore it takes longer to get bored off. U2 only play about, what, 60 songs a year? And they also have a staple set which is incredibly easy to get bored of.

I agree, they need to release a new album. They are doing a U2 now: "It's almost ready", *3 months later*, "It's half done". Tell us the truth you asshats.
  4. U2 cant touch PJ live,as far as their setlists..or even DMB..DMB played 99 different songs ,in just 43 gigs this past Summer, and that was a short tour for them...

Just saying about PJ,for me to not drive 90 miles to Philly, to see them, that in itself says something....
  5. At least U2 arent out there doing solo projects..that just eats at me...if they dont want to be in PJ anymore, then breakup......

Dave Matthews, plays solo acoustic gigs here and there with his guitarist Tim Reynolds...but he says it is only when DMB are "not touring, and he is bored"...so he plays a few gigs.."but I would rather be with my full band anyday."

Its my frustration with EV......does he feel the same way ?
  6. I don't think it's the case that they don't want to be in the band anymore. Some musicians just want to do their own thing sometimes. For example, Eddie was approached to do Into the Wild. I think that kind of drove him towards doing more solo stuff. Then he released Ukulele Songs which is a project he always wanted to do.
  7. it wasn decided that he's not the leader of the band, wasn't it? .. Stone .. it have been said hehe .. and he's more or less dstracted in the same way lately .. like Matt like Jeff and in a lesser extent, maybe, Mike.
so why asking only to him?

i see such a parallel with U2 .. when they are "positive" things they are U2 when "negative" Bono hehe
  8. A festival experience is definitely different than one dedicated to the band itself. When PJ returns, I will be all over it if they play their "own" show - even for both nights if it's an option. However, if they decide to play a festival (fortunately, there aren't too many of those around here anymore) I might rethink going.
  9. The best festival live experience I ever had was Pearl Jam at Pinkpop 1992. Giant jump into the audience from Eddie Vedder.
  10. oh well you said nothing hehehe .. one of the best performances in a festival by a band
  11. i don't think PJ will break up any day soon. when they celebrated their 20th anniversary last year, i believe i heard Ed say on one of the 2011 boots "here's to another 20!"
  12. I hope you're right. As much as I'd prefer them to get a new alwbum out, what they've been doing since the release of Backspacer is MUCH better than nothing at all.
