  1. For albums, sure it would be dominated by U2 but so was the Toplist last year. It'd be interested to see what the list is like a bit further down.

    I think the inclusion of different categories would start to over-complicate things a little, but I'm up for what happens when the plans are finalised.

    different categories like rock pop and so on could be very debatable on who should be where though
  4. With U2 being on a hiatus, the rankings of their albums will likely be lower comapared to other bands. Sure, JT and AB wil likely take the top 2 positions (not necessarily in that order) but I think we'll see many other bands' albums round out the top 10/20/25/50/100.
  6. I agree, sorting by genre will be very debatable and is therefore a wrong idea. As I stated before, the Toplist will need a twist this year. Therefore this idea:

    For Christmas: Annual Elections
    Best 2012 album and best single
    We could limit this to a Top Ten, making it easier for everyone.

    For 2013: The Big List
    Just like previous year, could be done with either albums or songs

    This way the topic will keep interesting in the long run and if you don't like the annual thingy, you can just skip it...

  9. Sounds like a good idea, but I think we need another topic(s) since this topic concentrates on a different list than those lists.
    A general list topic, where we can have these ''competitions'' every month/3 months (Songs per artist, decade etc) and a new Album toplist thread
  10. Hello everyone,

    Bart and I have been in contact and agreed on hosting the list together for another year. There are going to be two topics.

    The first will be the Toplist like last year. However, this year it will be about albums. Bart will open a new topic soon. The results will be available in the week after Christmas.
    I will open the other topic about the 2012 elections. It is basically the same concept but only focusing on this year. For this one, the ranking will be published the week before Christmas.
