1. It happens in the EU as well where Germany and France make policy. Could be worse though.
  2. The president is president for every American, not more for someone from Ohio and less for someone from Oklahoma. For the presidential election I think it should be the nationwide result that counts. For Congress it's perfectly logical to have more local elections, because you need different places represented and you can have it when you have a lot of people like you do in Congress. The president is one person that shall represent the entire country.

    The electoral college exists for a reason, when it was started it was a logical system because it was a different time, now it's antiquated.
