1. Not much to be honest. In the middle of a job search, so my mind is on that for most of the day. Juggling the responses from companies "Sorry, you're not what we're looking for" or "We'd like to invite you to an interview" or "...". Particularly fond of those who ignore.

Just eaten and now going to put some music on before I watch the football (soccer). Then I plan on watching the election coverage until the sun rises. To conclude my life story, I...

    How about you Matt?
  2. Just read this quote from a book titled "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss (I've not read the whole book, just two little quotes, and here they are)....some of the most beautiful literature I've come across in awhile. Want to pick up the book, now.

"'But there's a better way. You show her she is beautiful. You make mirrors of your eyes, prayers of your hands against her body. It is hard, very hard, but when she truly believes you.... Suddenly the story she tells herself in her own head changes. She transforms. She isn't seen as beautiful. She is beautiful, seen.'"

    and

“Go out in the early days of winter, after the first cold snap of the season. Find a pool of water with a sheet of ice across the top, still fresh and new and clear as glass. Near the shore the ice will hold you. Slide out farther. Farther. Eventually you’ll find the place where the surface just barely bears your weight. There you will feel what I felt. The ice splinters under your feet. Look down and you can see the white cracks darting through the ice like mad, elaborate spiderwebs. It is perfectly silent, but you can feel the sudden sharp vibrations through the bottoms of your feet. That is what happened when Denna smiled at me. I don’t mean to imply I felt as if I stood on brittle ice about to give way beneath me. No. I felt like the ice itself, suddenly shattered, with cracks spiraling out from where she had touched my chest.”
  3. But other than that, really not a lot.

That's a lie, there's been a ton..but nothing presently in my head, so I'm taking solace in that.
  4. Guess who's just about to play with his Big Muff?

    Yeah, that sounded horribly wrong.

  5. I'm so jealous. So, so jealous. I want my full pedalboard in my room but it just doesn't fit in there at the moment.

I got my Cry Baby in the mail the other day, so I played with that a bit. It has actually inspired me to write some solos, which is something I rarely do. I write spots for solos, but generally just improvise whatever feels good when we play live. These past couple songs have had solos.

Perhaps I'll post some of the lyrics in the Songs thread, revive that up a bit.
  6. I'm lining up for a Crybaby next. £60 is very good for one so I'll be getting it soon.
  7. I had a Vox wah that I was really fond of, but it was sort of a pain because it didn't have a DC jack so I had to keep using batteries. The Cry Baby looks a little smoother on my board, I was looking to change the sound, and I walked away $10 richer on the swap. Easy decision.

Still trying to find that sweet spot within the sweep but it'll happen.
  8. I'll get a Crybaby too withing the foreseeable future. Intend to mod it though.
  9. In what fashion?
  10. I'll need a delay after that but that's me for a while. I'll be getting a Fender Telecaster after Christmas and probably a new amp too - either a Marshall 100 watt or a Fender Deluxe. Only if I can justify the price.

  11. Well, maybe true bypass since I've heard it stucks quite a bit of tone. Then you can mod the sweep by moving the tab on the wheel inside. Then perhaps some resistor changes, stuff like that. Loads of stuff on it on the net.
