I think Obama has this one, though there is talk of him winning the popular but losing the electoral college. I personally don't think Romney has the pull at this stage. If you had polled the country 3 months ago, I honestly believe it might have been even tighter. He just doesn't seem to stick to one story enough for someone to feel comfortable with him.

Maybe it's just me but I've found Telecasters to be relatively less versatile than some other guitars. Though, Edge's tone on Vertigo live is fucking unreal and he's used Tele's for that all the way. It just seems like a very niche clean/light OD style crunch based guitar. Very Springsteen.

That being said, I still want one.

Look into PRS's. I'm no spokesperson even though I own one- its all a matter of preference- but I've gotten wicked Metallica tones out of it, and I also play Death Cab for Cutie and shoegaze style sounds through it as well. All depends on string gauge and pedal engagement, but its versatile without a doubt.

I've tried a friend's PRS before and I wasn't a big fan of it. I don't know why, it just didn't feel right to me.

Like $5 for a pack of ten at a hardware store. Don't have to be particular.

I wear ones with a string between them so if I need to take one out I don't lose it.

Hmm, I had a memory of you saying you had bought some quality ones.

  4. I only use those for concerts I'm attending, not for guitar playing.

And I actually rarely use plugs when we gig, since our monitors (mine anyway) is generally mixed pretty well, so I get a good read on what I'm sounding like without being trapped in my own head like you are when you plug your ears. Easier for me to match my voice with a louder guitar than it is to go from muscle memory at this point.

    Hey, to each his own.

Have you thought about the possibility of a hollow-body at all? Also, what is your opinion of Ibanez's?

  6. Yes, a hollow-body has tempted me a lot, actually. I don't think I'd go for an Ibanez. If I were into heavy metal, then possibly. I'd rather go for an Ibanez than a Jackson.
  7. Do you mean that in the reverse?
  8. Nope, Jackson's are awful. Terribly built and the quality is poor. I've heard that from people's experience.
  9. Oh I see. Not much experience playing around with those. I stick to things I can't afford while in guitar shops

Honestly though, perhaps the most beautiful hollow-body guitar I've ever seen, though out of my price range:

It plays so beautifully, too. The blue one is the one that I love.
  10. Go away.
