Already did a crappy photoshop of this one a while back and I started a few days ago on a new version.

Old quick n dirty photoshop :

Will post the new one when its finished (but it is more true to the original so far). Of course the sky is over done, but the original is a bit lighter than it was in reality.

I do have a few more, but this was my best shot of the summer :/

I know what you mean with "the original is a bit lighter than it was in reality", sunsets are a nightmare to get correctly in a photo. In my experience, relatively good cameras will end up faking the ground exposure OR the sky colours; surprisingly enough, crappy mobile phone cameras do a pretty good job when it comes to take a faithful pic of a sunset. My old LG KE970 took amazing (but 1024x768 haha) sunset/sunrise photos!!!
  2. Yeah, well still the good cameras shoot better because there is much more detail in it than mobile phones can capture. I am pretty satisfied with my new photoshop, may leave as is now. Cant decide between two version, but I wont share them till I saw some others
  3. I really like that Chris. I did some Photoshop on my shot, the sky was more cloudy, the water wasn't that blue and some other little things. However, I have no clue how you did that.

Next week I will participate in a workshop Photoshopping. Can't wait.
  4. Our browser aren't able to show NEF pictures, are they? What should we do, make our PS edit of the shot and then export it to JPG/PNG and embed it here, or share the edited NEF file in Rapidshare/similar like you did? I prefer exporting it and showing it here, even if there's a slight quality loss.
  5. @ fabian Well i have a 'warm color' fetish so I played a bit with the color balance and levels. Did some crappy quick selection on the sky (see the errors on the right). New one took much more time, but actually looks more like the original hahaha.

@ Sergio, personally prefer JPG for the results and if its not too much trouble the PSD to see what you did (masks / filters / etc).

hahaha yes the sky with the same color as the original below the top of the sails is hilarious
  7. I hate selecting things in Photoshop, but is a necessary evil sometimes. Although the tools have improved greatly since CS3.
  8. I'll just upload as a jpeg to Flickr (as private) then share it here. Still having a play with some settings, not quite sure where I'm going to take it yet.

If you want the .psd I'll post that too.
  9. PSD would be great
  10. Here's my version:

Enhanced the contrast and the colours a little bit, and doubled the sharpness with Canon software.

Also, I really think this photo has a retro air (maybe because of the great composition), so I add an filter to it using this site: http://pixlr.com/express/

  11. I prefer the first one, it is subtle and as far as I know reality was not far off.

Love the starbucks photo btw! Jealous of your compositions
