  2. BAH! The Republican party are running for the hills right now. If they don't get their heads out of the 1950s soon, they are going to find themselves a scattered mess.

    I don't want my stance on this to be misinterpreted. I love a progressive viewpoint but there are many conservative ideals that I am in total agreement with (balancing the budget for one). The problem is that the Republican party aren't representing the conservative ideal at all. They are representing the right-wing extremist ideal. That sort of stance doesn't fly with people any more. You can't go around talking about legitimate rape and criticizing anyone who isn't the white Christian, straight male.

    I'd just like to make clear that I would love for the Republican party to survive, but it is my belief that it cannot do so in its current state. They have to stop appealing only to the rich and the religious. Those are fast receding demographics and they can't survive running with them for much longer.
  3. Ross, do you know who Marco Rubio who Aaron is talking about is? In the two interviews I've seen with him, I've seen a great politician. Romney is nothing. I may not agree with Marco Rubio, he's just one of those who has real skill in politics. If there's anyone to make the Republican party succeed somewhere near its state at the moment, it's him. I hope that maybe he'll change the party for the better though. Or someone else. But watch out for Marco Rubio.

    For the next election though.... Hillary Clinton? I'd actually love seeing an election with Hillary Clinton vs Marco Rubio, I think if money doesn't destroy it (like in this election), it could be a refreshening great demonstration of a democratic process with great debates and everything.

  5. Dont know who distgust me more, the war criminals. Whether they are Serb, Croatian, Muslim or Orthodox. Or the people still supporting them.

    Try hanging a Hitler poster in Germany and you will get shit up all over you, but in Croatia you are greeted by them all over the (otherwise gorgeous) coast.

    This have been my thoughts on politics for a long time.

    Let me explain with a picture:


    The people on the left of Obama will vote for him anyway, because he is the most progressive candidate anyway. Same for Romney, the conservative people will give him their vote, no matter what.

    The elections are all about the people in the middle. In the Netherlands, a lot of the voters are situated here. Since the 'depillarisation' most of us haven't been voting for the same party every time.

    So it is like a tug of war. Romney had to be more leftish, so that Obama had to go to the left, leaving him with less rope/voters.

    I couldn't agree more. I love watching politics and watching a skilled politician is great, no matter Dem or Rep. It's just like football, you love watching it, even if the player is one of the opponents.

    I think Clinton would be a great choice for the Democrats, as women will love her. And remember, more than 50% of the population is female...

    Ah, yes: Using the words of a few idiots to vilify an entire group.

    Also, the Republicans actually control the house by a greater margin now, and all the left-wing constitutional amendments here in Michigan went down in flames.

    The Republican party is fine the way it is. They just need to work on the delivery.

    If anything will kill Hillary's chances next time around it will be age. The Dems already played there up-and-comer. For the first time, the right actually has a better bench now.
