1. WUDM shoud have 1 point, Matt. Edited your post!
  2. My turn.

    2 - Discotheque
    2 - Mofo (-)
3 - Staring At The Sun
    1 - Last Night On Earth (-)
    5 - Gone
    2 - Wake Up Dead Man (+)
  3. Now things are getting interesting...

I will admit that this has shifted my view on Pop just a bit. I still think it's their weakest work overall, but the gems are starting to emerge from the sand.
  4. Wow, LNOE really took a beating over the past hour!
  5. Gone is one of their best songs, as are Velvet Dress and others in the album.
  6. Gone is the best, for sure.
  7. For the purpose of this rating, are you guys basing it on solely the album sound or are you including live performances as well?

I've been basing my ratings on the album alone. If live performances are folded into the mix, Pop actually contains some of my favorites. Please and Gone definitely would move up on the list if that were the case.

I still stand behind my statement that ATYCLB is the best overall album U2 has released since AB and still holds that title.
  8. Personally I rate the song as a whole, including demos (when appliable), studio cut, other mixes, live performances, lyrics, alternate lyrics, etc.
  9. Album version alone.
  10. Gotta defend one of my favorite songs on the album here

    1 - Discotheque (-)
    2 - Mofo (-)
3 - Staring At The Sun
    2 - Last Night On Earth (+)
    5 - Gone
    1 - Wake Up Dead Man (-)

As much as I'd like to say I'm basing my decisions on the album version alone, it would be ridiculous for me to say that the live versions didn't have some sort of influence on my choices.
