  2. So I got bored with all those airplane photos without any kind of artistic inspiration. Plane sportters really should think more about the photo itself...biggest part of them are only interested in "register" the plane...

    Beacause of that, I decided to create a Black & White aviation album since in my opinion, aviation photographying should care about shadows, contrast, shapes and things like that

  5. I think it would be a good idea to split the other topic into an editing round and a shooting round. For the first two weeks (or any other timeframe) we take a photo uploaded by a member and edit it, as we have done. Then for the next round, we take part in a themed photography challenge similar to that on the Digital Photography School website.

    I think it would give us a good opportunity to go out (or stay in) and focus our cameras either at something we don't usually shoot (landscape for instance) or use our eyes to look for something specific that we'd usually ignore (a specific colour or shape). Then, we can gather around in the other topic and discuss composition/settings etc - offer constructive feedback to each other.

    I think it might help to stop the topic falling away whilst it's just the few of us.

  6. I like the selective colour shots. I didn't look all the way through yesterday, but finishing up this morning I noticed a selective colour on an Iberia Airlines plane. Just as I was wondering what it'd be like to see a colourful livery such as Iberia, Monarch or TAP against the black and white background. I like it.

    The livery is as important as the plane itself in my opinion and the black/white/colour technique helps to highlight both what you're trying to achieve and the artwork on the plane.
  7. Revisiting my summer pics I've found a serie shot at Lag Maggiore. This is my favorite. If I was to title it like you do with your Flickr shots, I would call it oblique sunset

    Good idea, will need to start shooting then. I am not really a photographer, sometimes I make a good looking picture. But more luck than effort.

    Maybe during the holidays I can do something. Might go on holiday a few days, another opportunity to do some shots.

    I like the edit/shoot rounds idea +1 from me. It would "force" me to go out and start shooting, something I almost never do otherwise
  12. Well I don't really go out and shoot as much as I woud like, so I think a focus in here might help with that

    As long as we don't have the round topic of 'windmill', we will be ok.
