I'm happy with the overall performance of the phone, it was just the installed browser what annoyed me the most. I've just installed Chrome (although I won't use it much due to the high amount of tabs I usually leave opened at my PC browser) and Opera and it's smooth as a baby's bottom now

That's great. And hey, it doesn't just automatically open all the tabs you have open on your PC, there is a button that brings up your "other devices" then it shows you a list of tabs you have open elsewhere and you choose whichever you want to open. So you can use it as much as needed.
Let me know if you ever decide to go with rooting and mods, I'll help
  2. Ok, I misunderstood you, I thought it just opened all the tabs! What a nightmare it would have been, I sometimes leave 10 or 15 tabs opened at my desktop Chrome just to resume work when I get back home... Imagine the phone had to open all that tabs at once hahaha...

Ok, I take your word on the help thing, I don't have a clue so a bit of dedicated help would be useful. Thanks in advance

Edit. I have AT LAST managed to import all my previous contacts (in VCF format) to the new phone. What a mess!

    Ready to help whenever needed
Make sure your contacts are synced with your Google account...makes it much easier for the future.

They are NOW. They weren't previously. That's why it's been a nightmare, as Tim said.

Now all of them are into my phone and my Google account, BUT those which have weird characters as á or ö show up as #? so I have to manually edit around 80 contacts. The nightmare continues haha

haha, it sure is a nightmare. Good luck with that! I had a similar problem before when I moved to Android...fixed the contacts whenever I was on a bus or train instead of playing games

  6. A book about HTML5 (http://www.minkbooks.com/)

We are not using it because wanted to focus on functionality instead of implementation. The standard is continuously changing, and keeping up was a pain. However things have been steady for a while now, so maybe we switch back eventually. But for now there is no reason to do so since the new 3rd party based solutions works fine as well.

Sounds like a crappy synchronisation (faulty encoding issues). But once you have it fixed it will probably work fine.

Nice thing is that you will get birthday notifications for free (if it synchronises to fb for instance)
  8. Having a way too hard time rooting my LG Optimus 2X.

    edit: I am giving up.
  9. fabian, just had a quick look at xda-developers and found this:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737

it's a tool to do most of the things you might need including rooting. give it a try if you haven't already but make sure you read the instructions and the original post completely...
  10. It worked! Thanks Ali!
