I have toyed with the idea, but I've never got around to it since I've never done it before and I'm not really great with sound editing software. Right now I've got the free version of Wavepad Sound Editor, which should be sufficient since I have used it to make seamless transitions between tracks (mostly fusing Mylo Xyloto and Hurts Like Heaven into one track) but those were pretty easy to do and I think doing the same for live tracks would be more difficult.

I also tend to keep my ordered playlists dynamic as I get new music, but it looks like there are a couple playlists that I wouldn't mind "setting in stone" per say. Maybe if I've got the time and I'm willing to spend a day playing around with it, I might.

But I do agree with you in that I won't be sealing my U2 playlists in stone until I see what other bonus tracks they give us. After Edge's Picks, I got my hands on some really nice recordings I want to use, such as Breathe, Boots, Your Blue Room, etc. As with you, I'm definitely on the lookout for Mothers.
  2. Alex, get your hands on Nero SoundTrax, it's the most intuitive audio editor (suitable for doing great transitions, specially between live tracks) ever. It's what Matt uses for doing all his compilations (I think)!

Also... Matt, PM on the way!
  3. Free, I'm assuming?

Also, I decided to sacrifice sleep (because it's winter break for me and I can) in order to play around with my Wavepad editor and attempted to fuse my 40 song "Live Set" into a single seamless track. I just finished the transitions and I'll give it a listen later. If you guys are curious, I'll post the playlist in the appropriate topic (wherever that may be).

And speaking of keeping things on topic, one aspect of Edge's Picks that I'm having a sort of love-hate relationship with is the fact that the tracks are actually mixed better than those of U22 from a transition standpoint. What does that mean? When I listened to Edge's Picks, it sounded like a much more coherent product than the U22 CDs did. This makes the CD amazing.

HOWEVER, the biggest problem this produces, as I'm sure those who have the tracks will know, is that it makes the individual tracks nearly impossible to splice into another playlist of your liking without carrying along some trace of a different song. The best example is In A Little While and Miss Sarajevo. Obviously, the way these two songs were performed allowed them to seamlessly transition from one to the other, but this unfortunately keeps me from using a great performance of In A Little While in a different playlist unless I decide to take an average performance of Miss Sarajevo along with it.
  4. Ehm, free... hmmm.... PM me if you need. hahaha
  5. Does someone already has scans of the cover?

    First listen: Breathe. WOW!

Batman is epic, especially the mix. Blue Room is nice, 40, ES...couldn't really care for the rest though
  6. Does anyone know how to check the tracking? Every time I try it doesn't work. I really am hoping to get it before I go home for Christmas on Sunday!
  7. Just yesterday I got my copy of U22, and today I recieve an e-mail that says FTGU is on its way to me too, what a great week!

"The tracking link may take 24-48 hours to show shipping progress."
  9. My copy took two business days to arrive, so tracking never actually worked for me, lol.
  10. ^ That's because they ship from California, lucky you

  11. Yeah...have been trying since I got the email on Saturday. It's been more than 48 hours.
  12. Amazing! All the songs. Stuck and Scarlet are the worth IMO. Electrical Storm, Batman, Breathe, Your Blue Room and Boots are the best.
