    This guy pissed me off so much that I was almost tearing my eyes out. Obviously I feel more strongly about this than the Pearl Jam one because U2 are my favourite. There's just nothing to it. It's also sad and a complete waste of time.


    Ok, I know this post was 19 days ago but as baseless and pointless as this guy's (oldskool) arugements are , if he hates U2 so much, then why doesn't he list bands or artists HE likes and loves?

    Other than that, he's entitled to his opinion but using his "opinion" to needlessly bash a 40+ year rock band, a band whose changed the way I look at the world (no pun intended), is the lowest forms of "opinion" I can ever read. He doesn't HAVE to like U2. Heck he doesn't have to love them, but at least aknowledge that wheather he likes it or not, U2 has changed the landscape of the music world, not to mention engage in works of charity (Live-Aid, Pavarotti and Friends, 2002 Superbowl, etc). Plus, his arguments boil down to "they suck becuase they just suck!". And THAT'S a BIG turn off for me!

  4. Sadly eerie cling serious U2 burn out but I'd does bring a benefit. Things I would turn my nose up at in my more cynical days are now appreciated. The casual stuff sounds good again. It's nice to listen with this frame of mind.

    Roll on new material time.

    Totally agree there, Ger. Spend far more time listening to studio stuff again like I did when I first got into them. Live stuff is always great but there's something nice about remembering when you first heard a song on the radio etc., and am getting that a lot at the moment. Bit more out on a limb with music at the moment, so having something familiar to fall back on with a new appreciation is reassuring.
  11. Sort of wondering out loud here but with recent singles from David Bowie, Justin Timberlake and Destiny's Child dropping with little to no warning I wonder will U2 follow suit when it comes time to release the first single from their new album?
