I checked my stub,Dec 10th 1991.. Soundgarden opened,I had no idea who they were then....I remember liking Soundgarden alot, way more than GnR,who by the way, came on at midnight..something like 3 hrs after Soundgarden finished...fucking assholes...I bought Badmotorfinger a couple of days later on Bleeker St....and that was that...
I thought the Singles flick got me into Soundgarden, but that was almost a full year later (09.18.92).My wife has a much better memory than me.She was like "No,hello,we saw Soundgarden open for GnR DUMMY!!!"...its hard to remember all this Matt..Im getting old...I think that movie (Singles) turned me onto Alice in Chains ? ...not sure...

Ah, Bleecker Street. I stopped off at that record shop when I was in New York last summer. We were on the tour bus and the soaring heat just got to us on that open-top bus. So while my family sat in this garden, I went to Bleecker St Records hoping for some bargains but it was extremely over-priced. Obviously it would have been better for value back in the 90s. Do you live near there, Ed?
You three (Ed, Matt and Ronnie) were respectable young men with excellent music tastes in the 90s so I can't compare to how awesome your time was in getting to know PJ, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, etc. Funnily enough, it was video games that influenced my music taste. I got into Pearl Jam through Guitar Hero II and III which included both Life Wasted and Even Flow, respectively. Soundgarden and Alice in Chains was through Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I loved Rusty Cage and Them Bones the second I heard them. San Andreas also got me into Rage Against the Machine and some old-school rap too. I rarely play video games now so look what it has done to me. It's changed my music taste for the better.
