3 1/2 years with no PJ shows in Manhattan is weak,as is blowing off Seattle for 4 years, assuming they play Seattle this fall...

Given that they've given nearly six months notice for the two July shows, I certainly hope that they'll announce any fall shows before them.

I can understand your need for new material. I, on the other hand, don't really care either way. I'd hate to miss a show where they open with Release, close with Indifference, and play Immortality in between...I state these three tunes as they are a few of my favourites these days and none of them were played in Toronto a year and a half ago...not that I went to both shows...
  2. I hear you Matt,I'd take any PJ show with those 3 tunes you mentioned...the new material isn't even a sore spot with me,as DMB toured like crazy in 06,07 and 08 with no new material, since the awful Stand Up was released in 05...the 08 tour is one of my favorites for DMB and PJ...its just too bad PJs 08 tour was so short (13 all yr I believe),cause they were on fire,as they were in 2010.

I'm just in one of my juvenile pissy moods towards PJ...one show all summer in the US is so ridiculous...In 2011 the DMB forums had a sissy fit, when it was announced they were playing ONLY four, 3 night stands in 4 cities, called the DMB Caravan...NJ,Chicago,the Gorge and NYC...those shows were amazing.
  3. Wow..THREE nights...I'd be in trouble if PJ played three nights around here - either from my wife for going to all three or from you for NOT going to all three.

  4. I'm feeling a "perfect PJ setlist" topic coming on...I know, we've done this before but not for a while...I'm going to make to lists (of about 30 songs each)...one is "anything goes" while the other will have some rules like "a song from each album"..."at least one cover"..."no more than five songs from any given album..."

In any case, "Release" opens, followed by "Go."
  5. I'm game. Here's my "anything goes" set.

don't fall off your chair for joy ..

Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard did an interview on Italian radio yesterday and revealed the following about Pearl Jam’s 10th studio album, “I cannot tell you an exact date, but if all goes according to plan, we will have a new Pearl Jam album in nine or twelve months.” We are currently in February 2013, so Gossard seems to be indicating a November 2013- February 2014 release for the new album. Pearl Jam have only released two albums in the last decade: 2006′s Pearl Jam and 2009′s Backspacer.
  7. Yes read it on the 10C forum, so a fall tour without new music, or maybe a few songs. Guess it will be a 2-3 week affair then in the same region. The south maybe, as he mentioned to look for places where PJ could play during the solo tour. Or was that to keep the audience quiet
  8. At the airport, going to Boca Raton Fl til Sunday.....

I know what Stone says isn't a shock to anyone. That being said,it is unfortunate though, being that the band choose to do 80% solo/other projects/other bands etc...and I still say this is all EVs doing....what you look back,Into the Wild was released in 2007,granted,its really a great recording....but since its release, starting with the short 2 week 2008 tour, this has been the norm,EV touring solo, very little touring as a band, and only 2 albums in the last decade,as the article pointed out....I agree, yes, its better than nothing,as most will say right off,but still....they really aren't a band to me since the 2006 tour ended....and that's too bad, cause I have been with them since day 1....

I'm still waiting for Matt C to announce his departure from PJ...if he does,I think that will be it for PJ...
  9. Any chance that Jack Irons would sign on to do the mini tours?
  10. I'm not too sure why I suggested doing this...it's too hard...mine's full of 1990's songs - nothing from the second decade, just like a year ago when I did this before ..."Everything has changed. Absolutely nothing's changed."

    01 Release
    02 Go
    03 Animal
