Little James is still a poor effort though.

It definitely gets a bad rap. There's a great (five-star) show from 2000 - Tokyo, I beleive - where both "Sunday Morning Call" and "Where Did It All Go Wrong" are played., along with the other tunes you'd find on Familiar to Millions

You included both "Sunday Morning Call" and "Where Did It All go Wrong?" on the "Live 2000-2001" compilation you sent me not too long ago. They sounded great, so I assume they could be from this Tokyo show?
  3. I don't know of any site like U2gigs for Oasis, so please forgive my ignorance. But, have they played "Roll It Over" live? And if so, what show would you recommend?
  4. According to setlist.fm (not the end-all-be-all but pretty accurate), "Roll it Over" has never been played live. A real shame as it's one of their most underrated tunes. I love the strain in Liam's voice near the end of the song.

Speaking of underrated Oasis songs, have you ever heard "Let's All Make Believe?" It's a b-side of "Go Let It Out" that really should have made its way onto SOTSOG.
  5. Argh, gutted. As much as I'd love to hear it live. I hope Beady Eye don't get any ideas. I was listening to a demo last night with Noel on vocals, I'll have to hunt that down instead...

And no, I've not heard it (but I will be YouTubing it later). The only singles I own are Cigarettes & Alcohol, Don't Look Back In Anger, and The Importance of Being Idle. Given that the B-side is as good as, if not better than the A-side in Oasis's case, I must press on and get myself some singles. Where do I logically begin though? Maybe I should go by artwork.

EDIT: There's plenty of singles available on Amazon. I'd best warm those gift cards up.
  6. Well, in terms of b-sides, The Masterplan is the best place to start - I'm sure you already know this. Even though it's not a b-side (it's an a-side!) I always wished they included "Whatever" on that collection, as well as the Slade cover, "Cum on Feel the Noize." I believe the compilation was made based on fan voting, however. I'm surprised "Round Are Way" didn't make it as it was played at quite a few shows in 1996.

What The Masterplan doesn't include is the b-sides from the 2000's - which aren't nearly as good as those from the 1990's. I have "Go Let It Out" (recommended) and "The Hindu Times" (it's got the Noel-sung, "Idler's Dream" which is okay, not great) and that's it. The rest I got from...well, you know.

Yeah, I have The Masterplan. Listened to it this morning in fact. That and the two singles I own from the 1990's probably make up a good proportion of their B-sides from that period. 2000+ is where I probably need to focus if I want to hear material I've not yet heard.

I'm glad you mention Cum On Feel The Noize, because what a great single Don't Look Back In Anger is. Title track, Step Out, Underneath The Sky, and Cum On Feel The Noize. I've listened to it that much that I half expect to hear "Baby, baby, baby, baby..." on The Masterplan. It's fucking loud as well.

I think Liam deserves some B-side credit too, for Pass Me Down The Wine. I have a soft spot for that one.
  8. I should have read this before I sent you my most recent PM.

I too have the DLBIA single. It's the only one I have from the 1990's.
  9. Take it easy, Liam!
  10. Nice article on NME Facebook page :

Liam who? Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn officially put their Brit Pop rivalry to bed and make history as they perform together on stage

Back in the 1990s Blur and Oasis fans alike would have scoffed at the suggestion Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn would one day choose to share a stage and duet together.

But on Saturday night that's exactly what happened when the former Brit Pop rivals sang their hearts out at London's Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust gig.

And even more eyebrow raising for Oasis fans, Noel sang along to Blur hit Tender as both himself and Damon strummed away on their guitars in unison

Never thought we'd see that! Damon Albarn of Blur and Noel Gallagher of Oasis make history as they put to bed their two decade long rivalry and perform on stage for the first time at the Teenage Cancer Trust gig on Saturday night

Both rugged bands would threaten each other and the rivalry dominated both bands chart success, with record companies pandering to the division of teenage fans.

But they started to make amends after years of publicly jibing each other in the press earlier this year.

Despite Albarn, 44, saying in 2007 making up with Noel, 45, would be the end of Britpop the pair were happy to give each other a mellow squeeze at the BRIT Awards last month.

What rivalry? Noel joined in with Damon's rendition of Blur track Tender as Paul Weller played drums and his bandmate Graham Coxon was also on guitar

Like old friends: It's on;y recently that the pair made up after being spotted chatting at the Brit Awards last month

In unison: The night marked Damon's 45th birthday and he was even treated to a Happy Birthday rendition by the crowd

It seems Albarn had forgotten Noel Gallagher's famous wish he 'would 'get AIDS and die' and his own 2007 pledge: 'I can't make it up with Noel. Britpop would be over and heaven forbid that we'd ever admit we'd all grown up!'

But that all seemed a distant memory on Saturday when Noel, who curated the Teenage Cancer Trust gig this year, invited his former nemesis and new found friend on stage with him.

Fans were first of all treated to them sharing a stage with fellow Blur star Graham Coxon, before they finally took to the mics and surprised the crowd with the rendition.

What's Liam think of that? Noel looked cosy as he posed in the middle of Blur stars Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon backstage

Getting the crowd going: The fans were all on their feet as they sang along to the well known tracks

And to make it even more special Paul Weller was reportedly played the drums during the track.

Damon seemed to love the set as he grinned from ear to ear throughout, even resting his head on Noel's shoulder as they wowed the crowd, while Gallagher giggled at his enthusiasm.

    Great cause, well done.
