1. Is someone on the 10C forum with a source blabla that they might have some dates in Europe this year. Can't imagine that after last year. Maybe confused with Soundgarden, who I kind of expect to be in Europe in the summer, if they really have reformed as a 100% band.
  2. Stone said no

    grazie Matt i really did

(by the way the pen is moving through boston..)
  3. 2006-05-24 TD Garden - Boston, MA

So Boston .. a city that saw performing great concerts like rightly someone (well Matt hehe) said .. by PJ and some others too I can recall
And the gig starts in a very classic way releasing Release .. sorry for the bad joke .. I heard and attended far way better version of it. Intro to and Severed Hand after; I’ve had a quite weird sensation like the concert is restarting and have to say I haven’t liked it.
World Wide Suicide to Corduroy, good way to raise the bar to a higher level but still it doesn’t happen surprisingly for what the song can do … same for the follower Animal. I feel like something indefinable is missing at this time.
An always welcome but “shy” started Red Mosquito makes the way for Love Boat Captain with spotlight on Boom .. well done man ..really. nice background job again by Boom again in quite average Better Man.
Unemployable and of course it doesn’t change the flow of the concert .. pass on to the next .. Even Flow .. incessant as always in the rhythmic section with a very little hint of drum solo but not as incendiary as we’re used to.
Sad is always a highlights for me but I can’t say it is this time .. and to follow Wishlist and Gone slip away without particular shocks.
Green Disease surely not a fantastic song but I always love when this kind come out especially in night like this colored in gray. Same words for Down.
Jeremy to return to a classic route .. good enough not excellent like it should be .. nice audience participation but again I expect more in this song.
Life Wasted, in what it seems its new stable position, and Why Go to close what’s been a pretty colorless main set.
Jeff and Eddie and all the band open the encores paying a due tribute to the poet with 2 of the many splendors of Dylan . .Forever Young and Masters of War .. great performances with Eddie deep in both and Mike in Masters .. I love the entirety of these 2 covers. The highest point of the gig .. quite odd that is not a PJ song.
Another cover to follow Crazy Mary, honest one with Boom winning the duel.
First encore ends with an unsteady at the start Inside job and a bit spineless Alive.
Energetic treble introduces 2nd encore .. Black Circle – Evolution – Whipping .. really hard rocking but Eddie don’t, or can’t, push as usual .. over the average of the night though.
Second appearance of the rats and they do pretty good; examination passed.
Comatose second last song? Uhm definitely not its position.
Rocking in the Free World (Stone here does what Mike hasn’t all over the show, soul in the solo) to close a concert that has left me with the sensation something more could have been done .. not because of the setlist, it had potential, but I feel like the band hasn’t pushed to the limit. If the mvp of the night, for me, is Boom something strange just happened .. love you man hehe

Highlights: Masters of War – Forever Young – Boom – Rats

    Rating: 3 stars

probably in a better mood of mine it would be 1/2 star more hehe
  4. Nice review Ron,I will have mine up tomorrow....
    ...
  5. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that Boston 1 was lacking something.

I have been listening to some earlier shows from the band - 1992 to be specific.

The Moore Theatre show is (obviously) great but I can't help but think that EV made some pretty immature comments during the show. I guess both he and I have matured a bit over the past two decades. Maybe I would have found statements like wiping my ass with a fur coat funny when I was 19.

The Utrecht show is excellent - everything from Ten is played except for "Oceans," which is understandable since they opened with "Release" on that night.

As great as the earlier shows are, I am still hoping their vault #3 release comes from 1996 or 1998 - and I hope it comes soon!
  6. recapping what we officialy-not official bootlegs have

-Live in NYC 31-12-92 (10c Avocado .. now on sale also separatly)
-Drop in the Park 20-09-92 (LP in Ten superdeluxe)
    -Vault #1 17-01-92 Moore Theatre (PJ20 weekend)
-Orpheum Theater 12-04-94 (VS/Vitalogy deluxe and super)
    -Benaroya Hall 22-10-03
    -Live at The Gorge 2005-06
    -Vault #2 Vic Theater 02-08-07

    (forgotten any?)
i don't insert in the list the dvd .. meaning Showbox and the Garden

so 1996-98 are a big gap but something will come out with No Code-Yield reissue .. if it will ever be .. it must be!!! .. i have a large empty space in my shelve waiting for it besides 1990-92 1993-95 hehehe
i wouldn't forget 1995 .. many great concerts .. San Diego, Salt Lake City, San Jose, Chicago, Red Rocks, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Las Cruces ... and on
  7. Lolapalooza 2007....is another gig,available on iTunes.
  8. There are indeed some 1995 shows I'd really like to have, namely the pair of Red Rocks shows and/or the pair of San Diego shows. Solidier Field would be awesome, as well.

In my opinion, there's no need to release either the Melbourne or SLC shows as the JWB remasters are just as good as the official releases that you've mentioned.
  9. "We’re excited to get it done..." - Mike McCready (Pearl Jam)'s response to the new Pearl Jam album.

This is the latest "update" from Mike's Facebook page.......
  10. 05.24.06 Boston N1

A solid version of Release starts off Boston 1.The crowd sound fantastic here, towards the 3:20 mark, they scream out "RELEASE ME" for Ed.Just awesome...shows the fans were ready.

The classic songs to start the show are all there.Release,Corduroy,ANIMAL,RED MOSQUITO.Very solid start.I would have been fired up.My problem though,is with the "extra" tunes.LBC ?,never a favorite of mine, same goes for Green Disease.IMO,2 songs from the far superior No Code could have been inserted.Same goes for Down, its below average,so lets treat this song like its Deep or Leash.....sorry,it isnt.

Better Man sounds ok.. not at all great....there are some annoying taps by Matt C,while the crowd were singing along at the start...Ed is kinda ho humming along,...this version certainly doesnt "have it"..

Unemployable is awful, always has been, always will be.I know it was a new song here, but still.Ed's preaching is so annoying. He can be such an irritating prima donna when he wants."I know alot of you have graduated, that song is for you." Nothing like having an uneducated, millionaire,"rock star",acting like he is educated, when he isnt, and knows so much more than you,he doesnt, preach of how terrible life is.Thanks Ed....its a rock concert, not a sermon.I'm here to fucking unwind......get off the soap box and shut up....

Even Flow sounds so off, mistakes galore. This trainwreck is followed by a terrible run of Sad,Wishlist,Gone,Green Disease and Down...ouch.Talk about 2 or 3 beer runs, thats like a quarter of the main set....Sad is ok...but again,guys...how about playing Oceans there,or Once or GIVEN TO FLY ??? ......etc........

Another thing..why are PJ's main sets so short ? 1 hour and 17 min main set ? The main set fits on a single disc. What are they Coldplay ? A main set should be longer than 1 hour and change.

Anyhow, the classic Jeremy picks things up...kinda......too little..too late ?...yes.Again,Ed is not giving it here...ho hum ho hum..Jeremy spoke in class today, talk about monotonous...very strange.Matt sounds better backing him.

    Encore 1

Ed and Jeff start the first encore with Bob Dylan’s Forever Young, followed by a full-band Masters of War,in honor of Dylan’s 65th birthday.2 songs is too many IMO.Masters of War does sound great though.Prior to Forever Young,Ed salutes Boston, mentions the beer stands, and says he doesn’t mean to be cynical, and dedicates it to the college graduates as well.Being cynical.Great Ed..thanks.

Solid version of Crazy Mary follows.....but I would have been like WTF ? 3 covers in a row ? Not good.

Inside Job is such a good tune, but no way,no how should it have been in the encore here.Alive,as expected,is predictable, and as always it seems, closes this very uneventful encore.

    Encore 2

Here is hands down, the best part of the show.Too little.. too late ?? YEP.

STBC,Evolution,WHIPPING and RATS ??..in a row ?? woa...amazing run,and they sound great.....I would have wet myself.....but,my excitment would have been short lived..Comatose ?...Now ?...Really ?? C'mon man.....

I could picture myself,if I was at this show..saying "please, just dont end the show with another cover ..ok....ok ??...not RITFW ??!!!...oh noooooo "....OUCH OUCH ....terrible way to end the show.

    3 stars

Main set was weak....encore 1 was awful.....encore 2 had a great 4 song run..but ending the show with Comotose and RITFW is a swift kick in the balls.......terrible placement of songs all over...

Highlights were few....Release,Red Mosquito,MASTERS OF WAR,STBC,Evolution,Whipping and RATS of course....

I expect more from Pearl Jam.
  11. Nice reviews - both of you. It looks like we are all in agreement with this one. Possibly the weakest show so far.

My Boston 2 review is ready. Are yours?
  12. I listened to Boston 2 today...Im not ready to post it up yet..I will soon ....
