1. Yeah I meant Fez as the whole track, I don't even associate them as different because its mundane imo but I'm surprised you do though does the Fez intro annoy you that much? haha

Yeah I think I speak for myself and most other people when I say we just call it "Fez" instead of saying "Fez-Being Born". I don't really treat them as two separate songs.
  3. I do hope they sort of do that again on the next album, epic intros into a full song Fez-Being Born is one of the highlights of No Line imo, definitely still play it like crazy.
  4. Yeah Fez is one of the gems on the album. Love the album as a whole. Wouldn't say it is one of their greatest, or their worst, but it just has something that keeps me coming back to it. I guess it's just that little bit different from the last two albums before it.
  5. Yeah I agree, it's weird because I wouldn't rate it higher than Bomb or Behind, and yet I listen to it WAY MORE than those two albums, COMBINED. I don't know what that means haha
  6. No Line for me,was just ok.At best its a 3 star album out of 5 stars. After the great "comeback" albums of ATYCLB and HTDAAB this was a disappointment.

I had huge expectations for this release. They took so long to put this one out. Like "pleasegone" said ,Eno raved about MOS like it was the second coming of 40. It isnt. Its a decent tune, yes. The fact that they chose to end like 99% of the 3 summer long 360 tour with this endless, drawn out tune still baffles me to this day.

I attended 6 of the 360 shows, and this tune ended 5 of them. The crowd couldnt get to the exits quick enough. That is a sad fact. The band had to have seen this.

Whomever was (I hope they were, and still arent) in charge of the marketing of this release, should have been fired forthwith. The band have gone on record saying what a mistake Boots was as a lead single. Magnificent should have been the first single. You dont need to be a graduate from Cambridge University to have figured that one out. The lyrics for Boots are just awful. I could picture Justin Bieber singing "Get on your Boots,Yeah.....Your sexy boots......yeah". My Lord, that is just fucking awful.

Crazy Tonight (studio) is a good, catchy pop song. When I first heard it, I believe I was at the movies of all places, when an add came on, playing this song. I couldnt get it out of my head all night.

Of course, the band chose to ignore it,and then had the bright idea of playing a "dance remix" of the song, therefore killing it.

When you break down this release,it has leak's all over it. This took 4 1/2 years to put out ? With delay after delay ???

No Line... is a good tune.
    Magnificent.... is excellent.
    MOS ....is ok...at best.
UK..... is good..nothing to rave about.
    Crazy Tonight.....I like this alot.
    Boots ...is fucking awful.
    Stand Up Comedy....nothing to mention.
    Fez.....very very good.
White as Snow....its ok.Actually, its kinda boring.
    Breathe...very very good.
    Lebanon.....it goes nowhere.

This is all just my opinion. As a long time fan,I can be very critical of U2.I give praise when its deserved.

    No praise here...sorry.
  7. Good points overall, can't say I agree on many things but good points.
  8. I might be in the minority here, but I think something that was lacking on this album in comparison to the last two were Bono's lyrics. I'm not saying they were bad or anything like that, but some of the lyrics on ATYCLB and Bomb make me tear up, that never happens on NLOTH. Many of them are good, but for the most part they're scattered, odd, and there isn't a narrative that runs through the album like there is on other albums. Say what you want about a frensh police officer, but to me it just doesn't come across. The lyrics on NLOTH felt forced rather than poetic, clever rather than heartfelt, and fictional rather than true.

And don't give me that bull about Bono not being able to write lyrics anymore, look at Disappearing Act, that song is incredible lyric-wise and I'm not just saying that. There's enough simplicity and mystery there to make the lyrics intriguing and motivating, whereas the ones on NLOTH don't really do anything FOR ME. Magnicicent may be catchy, but lyrically there's nothing new there.

It just makes me think of that video where Lanois, Edge and Bono are all on laptops and were presumably writing lyrics. Did it not look like a chore? Again, Bono's worst lyrics to me are still great, but I think it's just something we tend to overlook when we bash the music, at least it is for me.
  9. AGREE COMPLETELY WITH THE LYRICS REMARKS. I was just thinking this the other day but didn't feel like bringing it up because I hadn't thought about it coherently. haha
  10. ATM machine
    Restart and reboot yourself
Password, you, enter here, right now
Force quit and move to trash
Stop helping God across the road like a little old lady
Stand up to rock stars, Napolean is in high heels
ju ju man, ju ju man
but I'm running down the road like loose electricity as the band in my head is playing a striptease
Coming from a long line of traveling sales people on my mother`s side, I wasn`t gonna buy just anyone`s cockatoo, so why would I invite a complete stranger into my home?

Love some of the songs that those lyrics come from, but to me, they are trash
  11. AGREED. I only like the striptease one, and even that can be cringeworthy imo if I'm not in the mood for that song haha. I hope Bono steps it up imo.

EDGE NEEDS TO STEP IT UP OMG, I feel like he was TOO minimalist on Magnificent, MOS, and Boots, some moments the songs should have SOARED but they just whimpered along. IMO
  12. Maybe you could say that U2 (Edge in particular) became too tasteful on NLOTH, and Bono shouldn't write in 3rd person.
