So does anyone want to go to Glastonbury? Overall, it's a great lineup. Across the top five stages, there is some class acts there.
Of course, Mumford & Sons headlining is a joke. They are overrated. There is people saying that they only have two albums. So did Arctic Monkeys when they first headlined Glastonbury. Arctic Monkeys were more popular at that point of their career than Mumford & Sons are currently, but Mumford are pretty dreadful, to be honest and I don't think they have the potential to headline Glastonbury. I've heard they are a wonderful live act but I wouldn't like to hear a set full of songs that sound (awful)ly similar.
They're a neat live act BUT they should be playing a 2nd slot, not headliners. It's just dreadful. Arctic Monkeys had two FUCKING MONSTERS of albums when they headlined, as well as Coldplay when they headlined in 2002. Mumford have a very good album (their 1st) and an average one (the 2nd). They're just over hyped. Not over rated as they're very good. Just over hyped.
The reason why people think the second album is mediocre is because it sounds almost identical to the first record. They thought they would get away with it but they haven't. People have slated them for it and I think they might have realised along with noticing the fact that they've got too big for their own boots.
They are overrated, but that's subject to opinion. They are definitely over hyped, but not quite One Direction though!
agreed, I technically don't mind Mumford's music, but REALLY, HEADLINING? I think it's just because they are "hyped" and popular right now but their music doesn't deserve it I think. As Kieran stated, MOST OF IT SOUNDS THE SAME.I don't think I'd ever see them live, I love the occasional song, but a full headlining slot is jumping the gun a bit.
I noticed that. The Smashing Pumpkins on The Other Stage? What is that about? They deserve to headline more than Mumford do. If I was going to Glastonbury and both bands were on at the same time, I would undoubtedly see The Smashing Pumpkins.
Me too - and I know and love about 5 times more songs from Mumford than from Pumpkins - but I know where the quality is. Oh man this makes me feel like shit, bashing a band I'm a true fan of I saw them last week and they were superb. But justice must be due, and Mumford just DON'T DESERVE being there. That's it.
