1. Faithfull is a great tune. They played in in Toronto when I saw them. It had such an influence on me that I included it in my top 100 songs when we did that list at the end of 2011. Admittedly, it's dropped quite a bit since (not in my top 30 but still in the top 40).

Ah, screw it. I should probably just make three discs.
  2. I made a great mix from my Jones Beach gigs years ago Matt. Thats they only time they played 3 shows in 1 city on that tour.

Since then I have made so many mixes from 2000.The 2 nights in NJ (Philly).

The big 3 (or 4) from Oct..Det,Alpine,Chi and or St Louis....

Boise and Seattle to wrap it up mix......

    Then of course, theres Europe.....

2 nights in Italy...Milan and Verona

The German shows...Hamburg and Berlin..plus the 2 festival gigs in Germany......
  3. There really are a whole bunch of great "pockets" from that tour. The thing is I NEED "Alive" and the "It's OK" tag on "Daughter."

I have made my own 2000 mixes (London, Seattle, 4-disc mega) and also listen to the "Live on Three Legs" compilation every so often.

My plan here was to create something I could share with a more casual fan (e.g., my buddy who hates "Jeremy") as a means of getting into the group and appreciating their live performances. I too will listen to it quite frequently.

What I had in mind, assuming I stick with the two discs is something like:

    Main Set
    1. Sometimes
    2. Animal
    3. Corduroy
    4. Hail Hail
    5. Given to Fly
    6. Small Town
    7. Dissident
    8. In My Tree
    9. Immortality
    10. Even Flow
    11. Present Tense
    12. Off He Goes
    13. Daughter (with It's OK)
    14. Not For You
    15. Once
    16. I Got Shit
    17. Jeremy
    18. RVM

    Encore 1
    19. Release (I know, it never opened an encore in 2000 but...)
    20. Do the Evolution
    21. State of Love and Trust
    22. Wishlist
    23. Nothingman
    24. Better Man
    25. Black
    26. Porch

    Encore 2
    27. Last Exit
    28. Go
    29. Spin the Black Circle
    30. Alive
    31. Indifference
    32. Yellow Ledbetter

    Feedback wanted...

I'll add a couple things first, however:
    - I didn't want to "over-represent" any album. That said, it's tough to exclude "Ocean" or "Long Road" but I HAD to include "Sometimes" as it' really wasn't played in my other favourite years (2006 and 2011).
    - I thought I'd stick to 1990's songs. Therefore, right or wrong, "NAIS" got the axe
    - "Breath" is a classic but with only one performance in 2000, I made the decision to leave it off the list.
  4. The way I look at it, this was the Binaural tour,so I tend to open gigs with Of the Girl and always include NAIS .

Where are the Binaural tunes ????????

NAIS is the strongest track from that release, and is a must (IMO) for any mix from 2000.
  5. Of the Girl is great live.Sleight of Hand,Soon Forget,Grievance Rival and NAIS all sound very good live.

Light Years Breakerfall and even Insignificance should be considered as well.

Chicago (10.09) has a very nice balance of old and Binaural tunes Matt.Same for East Troy from the night before..

    "Over-represent' ? This a great mix....if it was from the Yield tour...lol

    Once again.........where is Binaural ??
  7. Nothing As It Seems has really grown on me - it's a fantastic song. I love how McCready describes it as sounding "like a plane going down," because it does. He produces sounds out of a guitar that almost make me musicgasm.

Breakerfall is alright live but not brilliant, to be honest. I actually prefer Gods' Dice live. Grievance, Insignificance, Light Ways and Parting Ways also do it for me.
  8. I agree Kieran. NAIS is a classic.

It is a MUST as far as a mix from 2000.

Breakerfall is a decent tune.Im just saying as far as a mix from 2000,when it was released, I have no problem as far as including it in a mix.

Parting Ways and Sleight of Hand are songs I have always really liked as well.God's Dice is decent, but the band almost always seemed to flub it in 2000.

  9. It's not really meant to represent the 2000 Binaural tour - I'm just using songs from that year.

  10. Ed, there's only three songs from Yield.
