I did just that about a year or so ago - we even discussed it, if I recall correctly. However, once it was done I didn't ever listen to it - and then those JWB remasters came out giving us a superior quality Atlanta show...
I have considered "mixing up" some of the great pre-1995 shows (heck, even doing one dedicated to only 1992) but in the end I don't bother.
It's different with the 2000-2012 shows. Having access to most of the shows via official bootlegs gives us more - much more - to work with.
In case your curious, that 2000 Binaural-only mix looks like:
Of The Girl
Grievance
Breakerfall
God's Dice
Nothing As It Seems
Insignificance
Evacuation
Thin Air
Sleight of Hand
Rival
Light Years
Parting Ways
Soon Forget
I suppose the list could use the venue for each song but when I made it using Nero, I forgot to make note of where each song was played.
I think the fact that I'm only nearing the end of my second year of PJ bootlegdom might have something to do with my resistance to let go of old standards.
Maybe I should do one 2CD mix for 2000 that includes all of Binaural plus classics; one 2CD mix for 2003 that includes all of Riot Act plus yet-to-be-used classics; one 2CD mix for 2006 that includes all of Avocado (ugh!) plus still-yet-to-be used classics; and finally one 2CD mix from 2009 that includes all of Backspacer (another ugh) plus even-still-yet-to-be-used classics.
This obsession is starting to make me lose my sensibilities.
Yeah, I didn't include any BS songs at all on the 2012 mix I made over Christmas - not even "Unthought Known!" I'd just had enough of all of them.
I have that 6CD mix from 2009 I made. Everything from Backspacer is on it. I've done the same (but "only" 4CD's each) for 2000, 2003, and 2006 and their respective albums. Everything has been accounted for. That's why I just wanted to create something simple (i.e., short) that could be a "beginner's guide" to PJ. I can appreciate the argument for NAIS but I'm not too sure anything else can truly stand along side those 32 songs I listed. And heck, I omitted greats like"Whipping" and "Garden!"
I think maybe a combo of 2000 and 2003 might be necessary. That'd allow for all of Ten to be included as Why Go and Deep were played that year. Also, two more Vs tracks (Blood and Glorified G) get back into the mix and that's always a good thing. Still no Leash or Rats, however. Good thing I have my TenVs mix I made last month from the 2012 Euro tour. Check this out:

Oddly enough, I still have yet to listen to those 2005 South American shows and most of the 2008 shows. I think I just listened to one of the MSG shows!
Speaking of 2005 shows, what was then end result of our Philly vs Gorge competition from way back when? We were going to listen to them both, review them both, and then choose the superior show. Did we finish that one?
