Barry Fey, pretty much the pioneer in the Denver live music arena, has died at age 73.
Most are aware of his involvement in the legendary U2 at Red Rocks show (he really tried to get U2 to re-schedule!) .
Barry is seen introducing the band in the film. According to his autobiography, he also introduced the lads at the Us Festival in 1983.
There is a wonderful section in that book, from more recent years (not this instance of course), where Bono and Paul visited Barry in his hospital bed and arranged a limo to get him home.
Bono also mentioned Barry during the Vertigo show in Denver in 2005. Rarely forgets the guy who lended a helping hand!
Rest in Peace, Barry.
